I was quite dubious of coming here, due to reviews I'd read. It was Friday lunchtime and was fairly busy. Just wanted a hot drink and had a voucher to use. Staff behind the counter advised me how to use it on the automated screen. Took a number disc and sat on a table. It wasn’t long before my drink was served by a friendly waitress. The hot chocolate was rather on the small side but it was nice. Place was clean and there were staff regularly clearing the tables. Would go again

Visited the Marks and Spencer cafe today at The White Rose Shopping centre, Leeds. I am very disappointed to see it is now cash less!! Ordering is done at a machine which registers a gps disc for you to take to your table. Come on M&S customer service is so important, Machines don’t smile or ask you about your day!!!

This café operates with a self-service ordering system that requires customers to place their orders via a touchscreen kiosk and then take a GPS puck to their table so the waiting staff can locate them when the order is ready. Unfortunately, the ordering system is far from user-friendly—it is sluggish, clunky, and lacks clear, step-by-step instructions. Given that the majority of the clientele appeared to be over 45 years old and not particularly tech-savvy, I found myself stepping in to help several people navigate the process. Once the order was placed, the wait time was unreasonably long—20 minutes for just two drinks and two pastries. Whether this delay was due to inefficiencies in the ordering system, the kitchen, or staff coordination was unclear, but a 20-minute wait for such a simple order was excessive. The overall atmosphere of the café was far from relaxing, it was a Saturday afternoon, so it being busy was to be expected - but it was still pretty excessive. The tables are placed so closely together, customers were practically sitting elbow to elbow. For anyone sensitive to crowds or looking for a more comfortable, leisurely experience, this setup might feel overwhelming rather than inviting.

Served a cup of tea in a paper cup. No prior warning this was the case. Apparently dishwasher has been broken for 3 months and M&S are refusing to pay to fix it. Table was filthy too.

Very disappointed 😞 went to M&S and ordered a pot of tea with cup and saucer with extra water as shown on Self Service Order Point and ended up with a cardboard cup No pot and extra cardboard cup with hot water. If I had known I wouldn't have ordered it Cardboard Cups & Tea Don't really mix
