5 stars for the decor! It brings me right back to Hoian ❤️ I ordered the Hainanese chicken rice( Hoian chicken rice) and my partner ordered the Hue spicy beef pho. I hate to admit that I was a bit disappointed as the chicken rice isn’t the same as the one I had in Hoian. It was still tasty nonetheless but just not authentic. The pho had a good kick to it which was nice. It was similar enough to the one I had in Hue. I’m attaching photos I took in Vietnam vs the food I had at Hoiana. ( first two are from the restaurant and the rest are from Vietnam). Oh and I am not a fan of their service. When we finished ordering, the staff raised her voice and said “ no starter?” Maybe she didn’t mean to raise her voice but it sounded like she was disappointed. At the end of our meal, we were told that the dessert menu was gonna be brought to us but it never happened. Still tipped them anyway. It’s not easy to run an independent restaurant these days.
We visited for a special birthday treat. The atmosphere and decor was fantastic, the welcome by all the was outstanding and the service was impeccable. On top of this the food was beautiful presented and really tasty. The staff were happy to explain the dishes and answer any questions. The little birthday surprise and the whole restaurant and staff singing happy birthday was brilliant. 20 year old wanted to hide but secretly enjoyed it. Thank you so much we WILL be back.
Visited with my husband this evening. The food was absolutely amazing. BIG thank you to Chi and Gigi for the great customer service...also to the whole kitchen staff. Beautiful decor 🥰 Highly recommend !!!! We will definitely go back because we want to try everything from the menu 🤗🥰 You guys are doing fantastic job xx
We had such a lovely experience at Hoiana in Leeds! The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was so kind, and the food was absolutely delicious ,full of authentic Vietnamese flavours and beautifully presented. Every dish felt fresh and comforting, and we can’t wait to come back again soon. Truly a gem in Leeds that we’d recommend to anyone who loves great food and a friendly vibe. ✨
I went to visit hoiana after craving Vietnamese food but didn’t want to try the ones in the city centre so gave here a try after seeing the great reviews. We came as a walk in and luckily managed to get a space as it was also quite busy for a Sunday lunch time service. The female waitress and manager were very accommodating and friendly to us. Firstly, the location is great especially on a sunny day that we visited because it’s next to the canals so it’s quite aesthetic, also the interior has many lanterns so it reminds me of back in hoi an. We ordered a iced coffee which was great and also started with a sharing platter for two, which was surprisingly was well portioned, especially the chunky summer rolls and the skewer and spare ribs were seasoned and cooked well, pairing with 3 respective sauces for each of the starters. For mains I got a beef bun bo hue for myself and my partner got a beef special pho. The broth was decent but unfortunately lacked depth and I’ve tasted better at other spots and in particular the beef for both our dishes were on a drier, tougher side. We did however enjoy the beef balls which were bouncy and tasted homemade but I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite bowl of pho I’ve had in recent times, especially with the slightly more dear price point compared to its competitors. Overall it’s a beautiful place to go to but unfortunately the pho and specifically the meats didn’t hit the spot for me.
