Enjoy Travel

Used Enjoy Travel and was delighted to find that they could hire me a car at Lanzarote airport cheaper than the end provider, Gold Car. They helpfully directed me to their partner Rental Cover where I purchased full protection insurance including excess charges. As I was unsure of the exact arrival time, I booked 7 full 24hr periods with the pick up time from 10am one week, dropping off by 10am the following. Having landed after 10, cleared security and collected bags, we excitedly went to collect the car with our trusty voucher. The helpful Gold Car sevice adviser asked to see the documents provided by Enjoy Travel and Rental Cover. He was quick to point out that the cover provided was only valid for a full on crash and not for scratches, dents, wheels etc. As this is what I thought I'd bought, i tried to get intouch with Rental Cover and could not get through. The Gold Car advisor said this happens all the time and that he could provide it, but it would be more expensive than if I'd done it all through them in the first place. Which makes sense, as a broker needs to make money somehow. The Rental Cover web site says that you can cancel prior to picking up the vehicle, so I tried doing this before taking the new insurance. I was stuck in a vicious circle as when I logged in to create an account, it advised me that only Enjoy Travel could cancel the booking. I tried contacting them and got no answer. I sent an email requesting to cancel prior to going back to the desk and finalising the paperwork, eventually picking the car up and driving off around 11.30. The reply from Enjoy Travel, whilst courteous and professional was very final. NO, they would not cancel, despite the big bold text in my confirmation. YOU CAN AMEND DATES OR CANCEL AT ANYTIME BEFORE PICK UP. According to them, their definition of pick up is the time you booked it from and not the time you pick it up. They wouldn't even refund 6 of the days and their answer was final. For anyone thinking of using either of these companies, dont waste your time or money... If you want to enjoy your travel book direct and don't use Enjoy Travel.

Poor service from enjoy travel and Minoas, its partner in Crete. Pick up instructions said to walk 20m out of terminal building, it was actually at least 200m. We then had to wait 45 minutes while the staff member argued with a couple who were returning a car. We were lucky enough to wait in the air conditioned office but the group arriving after us were made to wait in the hot sun outside the office in Chania, Crete. We eventually got the car and all was fine for a few days until the car battery failed. We were right by a local garage who kindly jump started the car. They tested the battery and offered to replace it. At this point we called Minoas who didn’t answer initially, then messed around referring the matter internally and telling us different things. Ultimately they refused to pay the garage we were at, where we ended up spending nearly a couple of hours and told us to drive to Chania, an hours drive away. We refused to do this as our three kids were hot and tired after a day out, and went back to our villa, taking the risk that we would be stranded there (Minoas also told us we didn’t have breakdown cover even though our paperwork stated “24 hour assistance”). That evening I emailed Enjoy explaining the situation (including the word “Urgent” in the subject) and stated we expected better service in this situation- it was not our fault the car battery failed yet we were expected to use our holiday time and cover the fuel costs to get it sorted out. Enjoy still haven’t replied over a week later so we ended up wasting 2.5 hours taking the car to Chania to have its battery replaced the next day. The drop off instructions also weren’t clear and drop off took longer than expected, not what you need when you have a flight to catch. Needless to say we won’t use enjoy again, we will stick to one of the big international brands that can’t hide behind local partners’ poor service.

Was denied a car as we did not have a physical payment card. Was left completely stranded and requested a refund as the need for a physical card was only mentioned in small fine print and was missing completely from the *Required documents* section. Got a response within 8 minutes to say it was not possible and we should have known. $200+ just thrown away with no help given at all.

Scammers and more scammers! They are scammers. They sell you insurance for the rental car, and when you go to pick up the vehicle, they tell you that the insurance isn't valid for driving. So you have to buy a new one, because they won't give you the car if you don't. They request a refund before starting the rental, and they say it's not possible, even though the return policy includes the refund. So don't book anything with EnjoyTravel. Scammers and more scammers!

I had a road trip planned with friends, and the rental turned out to be one of the easiest parts. The car was ready to go when we arrived, clean inside, and the paperwork was minimal. We returned it with no issues and the deposit came back quicker than I expected. Honestly, it couldn’t have been smoother.
