I went before my holiday in July. Hanna did my hair just as I ask. 100% satisfied. She give me a confident professional new hair style. I defiantly will go back. She is cool, we did not talk lot but I went for a haircut not a chit chat session. :D
I had a very disappointing experience at this salon. I first called ahead to ask if I needed to book an appointment, and the owner said I could just walk in. I arrived less than 10 minutes later by Uber. When I got there, I politely asked how much it would cost to do cornrows (without attachment). She looked at my hair, didn’t respond right away, and after about a minute, she said it would be £25. I was a bit surprised by the price, so I calmly asked if it would be okay to pay £20 instead. She said no, and that’s completely fine, it’s her business and her price. However, instead of leaving it at that, she became rude and angry. I explained that this was my first time ever going to a salon on Dewsbury Road to make my hair, and that I usually use home services that charge around the same amount. That’s when she suddenly snapped and started raising her voice, telling me I should “use common sense,” and going off about how shop prices include rent and electricity. At no point was I rude. I came in calmly, asked a genuine question, and simply tried to negotiate respectfully. I didn’t argue or push. Her reaction was completely uncalled for. If you’re looking for professionalism or basic customer service, I would think twice. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, especially when they’ve done nothing wrong. The owner seriously needs to work on her communication and anger management.
Hannah is rude. I’ve been a loyal customer for over 5 years too, but I’ve just had it now. I never wanted to leave a review but I just feel like I’m not appreciated as her client at all. She was sat doing braids for me for over 7 hours (she plaits slowly) and plays gospel music really loudly, which I found too loud and overstimulating. I don’t mind her listening to the words of Christ but as a customer, it’d be nice to be aware that not everyone wants their ears to be continuously hammered. She always hands me the extension to partition when I’m already paying over £180 to get my hair done yet gets mad when I partition the hair too much, which leaves me feeling uncomfortable and awkward. She also tried selling me a half used packet of extension, which is highly unprofessional because if that was anyone else, she wouldn’t have even felt comfortable doing that. Never again— wouldn’t recommend!
Worst salon experience of my life! Summary: I won’t advise anyone with 4C hair to go this salon. They didn’t handle my kinky hair with care and the salon owner got condescending and verbally abusive to me for opting to comb my hair myself. Full story: I came to this salon today, 31 May 2025, to wash, steam and get crotchet faux locs done. I had rang prior and we agreed for £110 (£30 for a wash & steam, £80 for faux locs). The salon owner was all nice and lovely at first until I politely told her stylist she wasn’t detangling my hair properly - it was hurting so bad and half my hair was going to break off. Rather than asking how I’d like it done, she got offended and walked away. I have 4C hair, you don’t just rack a comb through it. I happily opted to detangle and comb my hair myself then call the stylist when my hair was ready for the faux locs. The owner of the salon wasn’t happy that I was making them look incompetent by combing my hair myself rather than sitting there and allowing them mess up natural hair. She got angry and said to me, “You want us to comb your hair one by one (in sections). How much are you even paying? Since you know how to do hair, I should employ you in my salon. As a Christian, will you do all the work you’re asking for the amount you’re paying. Tell me, I’m talking to you.” “All the work” she was referring to was to simply detangle and comb my hair with care, the proper way - something I was more than happy to do myself btw but ego is more important than professionalism. Lol, truth is, I didn’t have an issue paying extra but she clearly didn’t have the right skills required to handled 4C hair. I paid her no mind and didn’t respond to any of her abusive comments cause there was no way I was getting in the mud with a grown woman who resorts to abusive words in public. She said a lot more in Twi which I didn’t understand too well. Anyway, I ended up paying her for the wash & steam only and went to get my faux locs done professionally elsewhere in a lovely salon not too far off.
Currently sitting in the chair I have been here a hour already. Waiting for my install hair ready b it they still blow dry my hair which only really needed combing out. At present I have one braid in my hair waiting for stylist to deal with a customer who came in to buy products. If more stafff is needed should let me know as the price should be set and assured the timing will be around correct as we have things to do I understand is a business then please behave professionally. I am disappointed I’m going to have to pay for a service that wasn’t carried out properly
