Ofosua's African shop is one of my regular Saturday or Wednesday grocery trips. I feel like home once I step in there. The owners are warm and friendly and above all the quality of products they sell keeps me coming back. One of my favourite items is the blue barrel I use to package things I send to Ghana 🇬🇭 I highly recommend this shop to all Africans, especially Ghanaians.
I love this shop as they dont disappoin, I get all my Ghanaian food and ingredients I need to cook whenever I visit. And they have a good customer service too. I bought Ponah Yam, green plantain, red hot 🥵 and resh chilli 🌶 peppers, and salted fish. I always visit whenever in Leeds.
I’ve been searching far and wide for a specific Ghanaian beer, Club 1931 to be precise. It’s a present for my coworker who said it’s her favourite lager, having lived in Ghana for a year or so. I went round so many shops and markets in London and was left short. After spending days googling about this beer, I was ready to give up. It seemed that it just wasn’t sold in the UK. On the bus back from London I was feeling heavy hearted, then my ears perked up when I heard the fella behind me say that he was from Ghana on the phone. I swung round and enquired about this beer, he informs me that I might be able to get it at ‘the African market in Beeston’, referring to this place. I was ecstatic to say the least. Today I rocked up to Ofosua’s gaff with tentative hopes. Though, after a small chat with the guy who I might be wrongly assuming is Ofosua, he tells me they have loads of club beer. I cannot exaggerate my joy, though I’m sure the couple shop workers I spoke to could tell. They were lovely! and we had a laugh about this story. I promised to leave a review, so here I am. THANK YOU AGAIN OFOSUA 🤜🏻🤛🏿
If you want any thing afro carribean esp Ghanaian food stuffs they are the best. I travel about 70 miles every month to go get kenkey and other food stuffs from them. They are lovely people.
I normally order my kenkey from London when I get family visiting as I don't trust kenkey from up north :). But decide to get some from here. The gentleman at the shop said he would give me a full refund if I don't like. Well!!!! After 4 balls , now having number 5, I would like to say he was right. No refund needed Sir. Very nice kenkey!!!
