The best park and ride site in Leeds. All of them are very good, yet this one seems to have the most spaces, plus a lot of them are covered, making them ideal for poor weather conditions obviously. Staff helpful and friendly. Free WiFi and decent toilets. Couldn't give 5* because of the entrance and exit barrier chicane situation. I know that these blockades are there to prevent travelers from pitching up home on site, but they look awful, are difficult to negotiate and at first glance make you assume that the site is cordoned off?
First use even though I pass it nearly weekly. Friendly staff. Toilet facilities and a warm waiting room if needed. I did miss the first bus as it set off as I was getting out of the car. Quick ride albeit it very bumpy into Leeds. For £3 a person at a weekend, I’ll definitely use again.
Pros - clean, good sized spaces, easy to get to off motorway and my favourite thing was the tall toilets! Cons - only one, the concrete barriered chicane! They come out of nowhere and as first time visitors we were confused and drove the wrong way! I see the need but warning signs would help. And for all you 'women driver' types, my husband was behind the wheel in this instance!!
Stourton park and ride is very convenient, large car park even offering sheltered parking spaces. There are cameras and staff to keep the vehicles safe. Electric vehicle charging points are available. You park for free and then pay for the bus. At the moment it’s £3 for a return ticket, which reduced to £2 later in the day. If you use the app and buy 10 at a time it’s slightly cheaper. All the buses are fully electric and leave every 10 minutes. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to Leeds city centre in rush hour. It’s worth mentioning that there are bollards at the entrance that you have to manoeuvre to get in. Certainly a stress free and cost effective way of getting to Leeds city, which is becoming more difficult to drive in by the minute.
Was slightly confused by the concrete blocks at the entrance, but once you've weaved through them it's fine. The car park is open 7 days a week despite what Google opening times states and you can leave your car overnight (at own risk). I think the barriers do come down at some point, but it's not clear what time this happens, best to check with the staff! Bus took 10 mins to get to the centre.
