Beverley Baptist Church has recently moved to The Armstrong Centre, formerly known as Armstrong's Sports and Social Club. The church itself has been established in Beverley since 1990, Abe has rented space in various buildings around the town for services and other activities. The people are a supportive, accepting and outwards looking community with terrific, Jesus-loving but down-to-earth people attending. At this point, they have ambitious plans to renovate the building to make it accessible to all, functional for the church's use and for multiple organisations and individuals wanting to hire sections of the building. It's thought the centre will be available to rent and attend later in 2021 with an open day planned when building work is completed.

Currently undergoing refurbishment, but will be fully open Oct/Nov time God-willing? Due to Covid, church services (Bible centred, Evengelical Christian) online weekly (via church website or YouTube) PLUS also physically in Armstrong's (alternate weeks until end July) with Covid rules, other week is Sunday School (both need advance booking - can turn up on day for church service, but may not be space). Eventually they hope to have bookings for regular weekly events (dance classes, book club, games club, weekly business meetings, etc etc) as well as special events eg birthdays, anniversaries, club AGMs, business conferences. Great location as Central Beverley with train station opposite, lots of parking (Flemingate car park, council car park opposite - available for public use paid Saturday or free Sunday), great restaurants (eg Tomahawk Steakhouse, Estabulo Rodizio Bar & Grill, The Westwood Grill (Michelin listed), fine dining in Whites Restaurant, Ceruti2 Italian Seafood restaurant, Lee Garden Chinese Restaurant, Ogino Japanese Restaurant, and the great Yo! Tuk Tuk Indian Street Food), pubs (eg Firepit Sports Bar) and cafes nearby (200m from Starbucks & Costa or further to Artisa at Deli No1), new, comfortable, modern cinema next door (Parkway Cinema - independently owned cinema showing all the new releases), East Riding Theatre 6 mins walk, 7 mins to East Riding Leisure Centre (with excellent swimming pool), 4 mins walk to Beverley Minster via railway footbridge, 5 mins by car to Beverley Racecourse. Nearby hotels include the Premier Inn, the newly refurbished (and very smart) Beverley Arms, the (also newly refurbished - but more relaxed) Best Western Lairgate hotel, the very well reviewed Trinity Guest House and the Windmill Inn.
