I had the steak pie with Guinness which was very nice but other family members were not as impressed with their meals. Steak sandwich was more mushroom than steak, lasagne was just a small bowl and 2 bits of garlic bread. Childs pizza was a sloppy microwave pizza at best. On the plus side the tropical cocktail was lovely. It was a very busy Saturday and the waitresses were very frazzled. It's very dark inside.

Genuine Old Coaching House. Great atmosphere. Warm room - they had a log burner which I thought must be lit because it was so cosy and warm, but it wasn't lit yet, so well done for keeping a warm pub. Staff were very helpful. Food was superb value, and very tasty - 10 out of 10 on taste and value. Small wait of about 10 minutes after placing our food order was extremely well worth it, and proves it was fresh cooked to order. Cappucinno was large, strong flavoured, came in a large mug, and was included in the lunch menu. I absolutely can't fault this pub in any way and it will be my number one go to in Beverley. One small impressive detail - before taking my order, I was asked if there were any food allergies. In our case the answer is no, but well done for asking. The toilets were clean and obviously frequently cleaned during the day - I look for this in food establishments as it gives an idea of their general hygiene policies.

I have been a frequent visitor to Green Dragon and I have always enjoyed the food and the price value. Unfortunately, today 30th October, I was very disappointed. I ordered fish and chips, the barman was very helpful and explained what you get and the price. I had to wait 35 minutes. To say the fish was over cooked, the batter was very dark abd hard. When I did cut through the hard batter, the fish also was hard and stuck to the batter. There wasn't the lovely white fish I expected and very little of it. The chips were ok but again, they where pale and not the usual tasty chips I've had before with the gammon. I did leave half the meal. I have enjoyed meals before so I will come back and stick to the gammon next time. Sorry for the complaint, but it wasn't very nice at all.
