Great atmosphere at The Monks Walk on the two evenings we called in, especially as so many other Beverley centre pubs seem lacking in it midweek. Good choice of beers. Courtyard garden was very popular on a summer's evening.

A beautiful classic pub just a few minutes away from the Minster which is well worth a visit. When we went in we were made very welcome and was offered a few tasters from the bar, I decided on the Brass Castle bright which was very nice and well kept. Unfortunately they didn't do food even though it was advertised so we left after one drink but would i go back, definitely yes.

Regarding a sense of inebriated comfort in a quaint market town such as Beverley... The Monks Walk is something of a zenith. From London Thunder to boozed-up chunder, this is a pub whose walls tell every story. The staff were extraordinarily convivial, pursuing a quest to obtain... for me.... a myriad of historical beer mats. What a lovely touch. With a cup cheer, without nerves or fear, all manner of drinkers, and creative thinkers, can find sanctuary, comfort... and home right here

Fantastic place to visit - staff are great and the music/pizza events are absolutely spot on! Only downside is that when (very infrequently) a group displays unruly behaviour or inappropriate language (to the detriment of other customers), no one seems capable or confident enough to approach and deal with the problem. Overall though - a lovely place to drink and relax.
