Absolutely terrible. We pre ordered food for 14 people 2 weeks prior. On arrival we were seated in a cold back room with no music. We stood in a queue before been seated for 20 mins for drinks. Our booking was at 2pm we arrived 1.30pm so in good time. Noine came to our table for nearly an hour to ask us if we were ok , needed drinks, or to explain the situation they were in. The pre order was completely wrong, we received our starters with 3 missing over an hour after been seated. The 3 missing ones came 20 mins later. Table not cleared , pre order for mains wrong. Mains came out over 2.5 hours after arrival. Cold, over cooked snd thrown together. No sides as they said they didn't have any. We found bits of the baking tray in the meat. On speaking to the staff , they'd all been brought in from other places including whoever was in the kitchen that day with some travelling over an hour to cover people that had all left the day before. They had noone that knew what the were doing , no stock , no food for the people who had pre ordered it was just a shambles. Ruined our family Christmas day out. I think the situation should have been communicated to customers before their arrival, this would have saved Alex and his team alot of Grief and given customers the option of having their day ruined. Credit to Alex, put in charge and set up to fail from the moment he started his shift. We won't be returning unfortunately unless things dramatically improve..

Birthday meal. We had booked The kings Head Beverly because we visited the Flying Childers Melton Mowbury (sister pub) and had a great experience. The Journey, on arrival at the Kings Head, it took a few minutes to find are three person booking, after we established we had booked we were shown to the table and handed the menus two minutes later the waiter came back and said he was sorry but the menu was off and gave use a revised A4 sheet with not a lot on offer, he said this was due to a fire in the kitchen the previous evening. I did say to him they could have informed us by email the next morning about the problem and we maybe could have changed our venue, but why would they do that. The first course we had in mind to have was not available of course so only one ordered bbc chicken strips (pic). Three mains two lamb and one beef pie. The pie was ok carrots bit dry(pic) the lamb not cooked as ordered comments were tough grizzly fatty not very hot after (pic). Sweets chocolate brownie comment best part of the meal. vanilla cheesecake comment no cherry compote dry.lemon pie very good. The hole experience took just over two hours very slow service restaurant was a third full and being called mate by the waiter is maybe not the best. A poor night at The Kings Head Beverly. We were give three free drinks? as a sorry.

Popped in on the off chance at 130 on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Got ourselves a table and quickly made our Sunday lunch order. It was not too busy. Got a pint and half a coke and the total bill was £45. Food came in good time. Five different veg (small portions but really nice) two and half decent slices of Turkey, roast potatoes, stuffing ball and a lovely Yorkshire pudding. I got some mint sauce. A few minutes in we were checked in on to ensure we were happy. Would definitely go again, thank you to all the staff who clearly work very hard.

Dreadful lunchtime food. Chips made us feel ill, hard on the outside and oily mush in the middle. Small, poor quality burger patties and virtually no salad, (one small piece of limp yellow lettuce) , and a miniscule piece of bacon, very very poor vfm. Veggie flatbread was disgusting, wasn't even warned up. Greasy flavourless cauliflower and same disgusting inedible chips that seemed refried from the weekend. Waited over 35 minutes and even went to ask where the food was at a very quiet time. One star because of the pizza which was OK. This pub used to be good, it isn't anymore. It's tatty, tired and not particularly clean. Go somewhere else. You'd find better food in a bin than this. Absolutely dreadful.

Called in here for a drink during a Saturday visit on a gloriously sunny day. We sat in the back courtyard which was pleasant and watched the world go by. We ordered drinks via a QR code on the table but they did seem to take ages to arrive unfortunately. When the did arrive they were nice and cold. I liked the small lager glass. We did check out the inside which seemed nice and well presented. Although we didn't eat anything here lots of people were eating and the food looked good.
