Called in today as discovered yesterday that the branch now closes on Thursdays too! Could only see 3 staff members and one of those had left his teller position to assist customers waiting in the branch. Mentioned my query to teller and was told around a 20-30 minute wait, I didn't have the time to spare. Branch interior looks shabby, Halifax certainly isn't what it used to be, clearly interactions with real customers isn't a priority. Will be moving back to Santander who are open when customers need them.

This branch of Halifax has a very prominent position on Toll Gavel but sadly is feeling and showing the effects of the move to online banking. Already closed on Saturdays it is now also closed on Thursdays, which came as a great surprise when I attempted to visit last week… This isn’t my main bank but I do have an account there and needed to speak to a real person with my query as I couldn’t get clarity on the website. There was a note on the door re closure, the cash machine was out of service with a note written in biro taped across it and a homeless man had settled himself in the doorway. He was doing a splendid job of explaining to all of the customers trying to get into the bank that it was closed. I’ve only been in to the bank a handful of times: the first time I was met my a very dismissive member of staff who just kept referring me back to the website, but since then I have found the staff to be super helpful and very professional 🤷‍♀️ I understand that the reduction in days is better than the alternative of closing the bank completely and probably as a result of decreased footfall, but communication needs to be a whole lot better.

OK, but a bit daft closing on a Saturday when a lot of working people need it.

My recent visit to the Halifax branch left me with mixed feelings. Initially, the discrepancy between what the customer service mentioned over the phone—stating only one form of ID and proof of address was required—and the in-branch request for an additional ID, particularly a passport, caused inconvenience. Even after confirming the policy online and with customer service, this difference in requirements persisted. However, my third visit proved more fruitful, as the subsequent staff member efficiently processed the address change with the documents initially brought in. The inconsistency in the ID requirements was puzzling, but the resolution by another employee on the third visit was appreciated. Despite conforming to the initially communicated criteria, the request for an additional form of ID seemed arbitrary and inconsistent. Such discrepancies can inadvertently create hurdles for certain individuals and may raise concerns about fair and equitable treatment in customer service practices.

I too was disappointed that the branch is now closed on a Thursday along with a Saturday when most people can only do banking if not on-line. I am online no mention of Thursday being closed, i suppose the question is How long before no Halifax branch in Beverley
