The Jones never fails to impress me with how consistently miserable it manages to be. No matter how rarely I visit, the experience is always the same: clueless, unhelpful staff who seem genuinely inconvenienced by the idea of customers. Today, 20/12, at what should be peak Christmas trading time, there was only one cashier open at the post office inside. Naturally. Service was painfully slow and awkward, bordering on embarrassing for a shop that presumably still considers itself a functioning business. So,I,went to the front for stamps. You cannot buy fewer than eight stamps. Not six. Not four. Eight. And, for reasons known only to them, they must be first class only. No choice, no flexibility, no explanation that makes sense in the real world. Just policy for the sake of policy. What a joke. If consistency in poor service were an achievement, this place would be thriving.

Standard selection of books you would expect from a high street bookshop of this size. Good for a last minute present - had some good offers. Good selection of travel guides. Nothing special just standard WHSmith. Stationary etc at the other store

Excellent customer service. I went in today (Sunday) a few minutes before closing, desperate for a camera SD memory card. The young lady who served me couldn't have been more kind and helpful, even though she was getting ready to close. Many thanks!

Crowded, can't find anything, one person on the till while there is a queue stretching almost to the back of the shop. Avoid, especially as they're going to cram the post office into the shop too .
