Manor Road Surgery - The Health Centre

The staff are always so helpful. Today the pharmacist went above and beyond. I was struggling to get some medication and emailed this morning (the new email system really does work). She rang me before 9:30 and had got me a new prescription to be collected. I went in at lunchtime and it was ready - such a lovely lady and so professional- a true credit to your practice

New system for getting a GP appt. Very confusing as NHS App says call surgery. Surgery message says you need to fill in the form on surgery website. There are two websites one of which doesn't work. The form is hard to find on the website and when you find it it says that it'll be 2 days before your form is reviewed but "normally" you'll get a reply in 4 hours "if you need an appointment for requests received before 1pm". No idea what that means. The form says focus on one "problem" only. Tough if you have more than one or they are related. If you select SMS for communication you get a text with details of the appt and you are given 30mins to reply otherwise it'll be cancelled. No chance to change it if it's inconvenient. The text contains a link to reply with but it just takes you to a background with your form in it overlaid with the appt and a comments box. There is no clear information on how to accept or change the appointment or how to reply. In addition the Dr's triage of my form also showed as a appt so it looked like I had two appts for two different times. This was only explained when I spoke to the surgery's receptionist. The SMS message contains a link to the Urgent Treatment Centre as an alternative to confirming the appt. After an 1hr and 20mins I finally confirmed my appt by calling the surgery. Anyone who doesn't have a smart phone, is unable to type, has dyslexia or access to the Internet will find themselves excluded. All other patients need patience and hours of time to devote to getting a GP appointment at this surgery.

Wouldn't give an appointment on my day off so had to go during work hours, missing pay, only for them not to see me anyway after I waited for over 10 minutes leaving me without help for even longer.

Not sure how easy it is to get "on the books" but if you are, you should have little problem getting appointments although the appointment process which is now online as opposed to ringing and being 27th in line at one minute past opening time! 👍😂

Excellent staff (doctors and reception). Excellent treatment, new online booking system is great, fast response.
