Our favourite Hotel full stop! We treat ourself to a Feature Room, which is a good twice the size of a normal room plus comfy sofa and chairs. A great view of St Mary's Church from the windows. (Note, I don't believe that these rooms in the older part of the Hotel have disabled access ?) Car parking is good, and as the hotel is in the heart of the town you don't need to get the car out again until you leave. You can check in on line to speed things up and check-in time is from 3pm.You must pre-book your evening meal as the place is heaving with people, especially at Christmas. The restaurant is impressively good. You can see what's going on in the kitchen. There is always enough attentive staff on hand if you need anything. Excellent food and service.
We went for an afternoon tea. A festive afternoon tea. It was at a cost of £30 each. We had to ask for a booking online. It took days for them to get back to me. When we arrived the staff had an attitude, although some were lovely and kind. We had booked yet half an hour later had to ask for the food to be served. The afternoon tea was very disappointing. The sandwiches were under-filled and on poor quality bread, the sweet treats were overly sweet and the scone was stale and rock hard. We have had far better afternoon teas at a lower price and would not recommend this to anyone! We booked this as a special treat for a group of friends at Christmas. Luckily the company was first rate. Don’t waste your money. Go somewhere else
We love stopping at the Beverley Arms. Always a warm welcome, especially the two girls on reception. They are amazing!! Room was totally fabulous in every way. Great nights sleep, and very comfortable. Breakfast was 1st class. What else can you say but thank you so very much xx
This a really excellent and historic hotel! The attention to detail and attentiveness from staff was brilliant and much appreciated. When we arrived we were early for check in but the staff offered to take our suitcases and give us a call when the room was ready which was very kind after a long day of travelling. When we came back to the hotel we checked in and were surprised with how nice, clean and light our room was! The bed is actually the most comfortable and soft bed I've slept in in a hotel. The room was nice and dark at night and not too hot which I appreciated. The room came with a standing fan. We also got breakfast included and it was AMAZING! I had berry compote scotch pancakes which were delicious. My partner had a full English which he enjoyed a lot! The coffee at breakfast was very tasty too. The service, particularly at breakfast was friendly and welcoming. Really a lovely stay all round
We went to the Beverley Arms for dinner last Saturday for a Christmas meal with our dear friends. The Christmas menu was well thought out. The food was excellent, well presented and very tasty. The service was top notch and very professional. All in all we had a fabulous evening at this special time of year. Highly recommended!!!
