Free parking, great area just walk the dog great views just out side Beverly Would recommend to stop for a walk.
One of the iconic landmarks of the Beverley skyline! Makes for good photos, especially at sunset or on the rare occasion that the Aurora is visible. It's a good obvious meeting place if you're going for a walk on the Westwood. It's never very busy from my experience. It's also nice that there's a bench almost all the way around it, which you can sit and watch the sunset! The only thing that's missing is being able to go inside it, but I think this stopped being an option decades ago. Definitely worth going up to and having a look if you're in the area though.
Black Mill is an iconic of Westwood Pasture. You can see it there from far away. The surrounding area is quite suitable for picnics when it has nice weather, and sometimes you can see a bunch of cows there because there have a water tank for them next to the Black Mill
Nice mill tower with fields to walk through, unfortunately dog walkers have dogs off lead running about and sh1tting without them picking it up. Apart from that just watch where you walk keep in short grass and pleasant walk
Black Mill is a grade 2 listed structure, originally named Far Mill or Baitson's Mill after Gilbert Baiston rebuilt it in 1803, originally had white washed walls, it was damaged by fire in 1868 and eventually all the working gear was removed, it was used as a dwelling untill 1934, now a land mark on Westwood Pastures.
