My mum and I stumbled upon The Pen Nook on a Sunday road trip. We were delighted to find such an authentic and delicious carvery. We met Tony, who made us so welcome, and the bar staff sorted a veggie option for Mum. The roast was crazy good value and so tasty. The serving staff changed their gloves to serve Mum's veggie option which was such a nice surprise (people are supposed to do that but often don't). There was the option of double-meat (I had beef and turkey), multiple yorkshires, two kinds of potato, 5 veg, and 2 types of gravy. This was a brilliant experience and I would drive out of my way to come here again...considering I live in Melbourne, Australia, that's a huge compliment!
Been living in this area over 5 years and can say it's hands-down one of the best pubs in the area! Owners have made us feel welcome from the start. Had some fantastic nights here, carvery is lovely and atmosphere is great! Locals are very friendly and would happily recommend to anyone!
Come into the pub quite often for the atmosphere. Staff are lovely and make you feel welcome. The food is always hot and a very clean pub. Would definitely recommend.
Best carvery in the local area. Warm welcome & decent priced drinks too. Regularly visit & will continue to do so.
