Good small museum and local history / heritage centre in the Town Hall. This is run by the Stocksbridge & District History Society and open a couple of days a week. It is staffed by volunteers. We turned up on a Tuesday morning and were given a good welcome. We were searching for information about my Firth relations and history in Deepcar, Stocksbridge, Bolsterstone and area. We'd found a picture of my mother in the 1930s from the website and wanted to find out more about the history relating to it. The volunteers were really helpful and have a lot of information in their archives to assist people doing local family history research. All in all a really interesting visit which has grounded me as having local family connections and provided lots of help and local knowledge. Thanks to Dennis & Winston!!!
