I don't think it's as impressive as the previous one on Google, which looked to have the head part of the wall but still worth the walk up as the body and legs look great! Lots of free parking on the reservoir road, not far away
There be Dragons, well one at least. Makes a walk in the woods a better place. Park at the bottom and take a walk up a sheepish muddy ish hill.
Glad to have seen this, and to have learned about the legend of the Wantley Dragon. It's from a 17th century source, referring to a hideous dragon terrorising the local area, cunningly defeated by the local More of More Hall (to get here, go along More Hall Road, and there's a path through the woods after a bit on the right). It might have been allegorical, with the dragon referring to a local landowner....
A Woodland Trust area, this made for a good walk of discovery with family following wooden posts with depictions of dragon, uphill through woods, with great valley views and the dragon himself along with a tale of his life and demise.
Good for a dog walk. Was expecting more to be onist.
