Stayed very close by so this became our local for a couple of weeks. Service very good. Barman remembers what you drink and tells you when he has new stuff on and has even got more of our favourite crisps in. Looking forward to checking out dominoes night. Nice outdoor area for sunny afternoons. Eclectic indoor seating areas and dog friendly.
Out of this world Sunday lunch with a great veggie option. Staff always friendly here. Lovely atmosphere and very very reasonably priced for everything. Great pint of Guinness and good gin selection!
Definitely a must try! Gorgeous proper traditional pub, with nice local people. We're here on holiday and value for money is absolutely amazing. We came in for a few drinks one afternoon and the chap behind the bar was lovely and so attentive. We looked at the menu and decided we'd try for dinner the following evening. Well we were not disappointed! The lamb shanks were to die for and for pudding we had cherry pie and sticky toffee pudding, also very tasty. The portion sizes are huge and we definitely didn't leave hungry. It was nice to find a local pub that allowed dogs. Will definitely return when we next venture up this way!
Went in to watch some football, the atmosphere was alright and beer was OK. However we ordered some food in there, a burger and chips and it was a right rip off, 14 quid for it and it was not good quality at all. The burger was very small and basic, didn't have any cheese and it was just meat with some ketchup and the chips were absolutely horrendous. They were extremely dry and seemed like they didn't even have any potato in them and were like frozen chips from the supermarket. In fact the frozen chips from the supermarket are probably better than the chips i got there and I only got about 8 chips. I was still starving after I had the meal. In conclusion the beer and atmosphere is OK if you want to go in to watch some football, but I wouldn't recommend getting any food in there.
Had an absolutely smashing time at this place, Sunday dinner..delicious lamb shank, meat just fell on the bone. Sliced beef served pink with cauliflower cheese, greens and gravy. A delightful choice of popular favourites sticky toffee, chocolate fudge, lemon cheesecake and selection of ice creams..
