We decided to book Sunday dinner after hearing about the new management, menu and improved service and we were delighted with all three. Great portions and high quality food at reasonable prices, well done 👏 to all involved. Will be returning soon.

This is a genuine traditional country pub. Great atmosphere lovely and cosy. Had Sunday lunch which was amazing cooked to high standard.Great choice of vegetables and the quantity was plentiful and the taste and quality also excellent. The chef had extra roasties left and put them on the bar for other patrons to enjoy, what a thoughtful touch. Will definitely be returning.

What a lovely country pub! We visited on a Saturday night and there was a very good atmosphere in the bar and a roaring fire! Our party of four ate scampi, fish and chips and the burger - we could not fault the food and the cherry on the top was a gluten free sticky toffee pudding which suited the coeliac member of our group. The staff couldn’t do enough to help us and make our evening go smoothly… and they made the effort to have a chat with us - something which unfortunately is a lost art in many pubs these days. Lightfoot beer on tap was delicious and the lager and Guinness were also very good. We will definitely be returning, thank you!

We're new to the area and popped in after a long dog walk, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the food was amazing. One of the best roast dinners we've ever had. The atmosphere was lovely, and the pub has an old-wordly charm without being shabby or run-down in any way. This is definitely going to become a regular occurance!

Went across tea time, ate in dining room at back, very cosy, warm room. Can thoroughly recommend the Steak Potatoe and Ale pie peas and chips. Fantastic. First visit since new owners took over, we will be back.
