Visited here in September 2025 from Wiltshire - Lovely fish & chip shop with everything done in beef dripping. Great flavour and excellent value. Had a lovely chat with the proprietors and really enjoyed our food. Thanks to the Golden Bite.
NO CONSISTENCY Last week, 8/10 This week 2/10 This week, chips under done, greasy (not given enough time). Fish, batter soggy, indicating hot oil for a quick flash. Honestly, you’ve never been able to get it consistent over the last 10 years. Go back to having everything pre made on the counter top. I know it’s not the new way, but it’ll get your customers back. If not, I’ll open my o wn place and practice what I preach, it won’t matter to me if it makes money or not.
Excellent fish and chip bar, great to see scraps added with my supper. Fairly priced also. Would have gotten 5 stars if it had taken Scottish money as I'm a Scotsman who was travelling home from Donnington.
The chips and fish are always too soggy for my taste, and tonight they were undercooked, even though I asked for well done chips. Really disappointed with my £20 two suppers
Tiny portions, sloppy service, and undercooked fish. I even caught the lady scooping chips from one portion into another as they had no chips left 🤬. Absolutely not coming back.
