What can I say I have 4 children 2 with SEN needs. All 4 children have attended my 2 boys still go and still love it! They help parents out with things that might be going on and they also help children with any issues they have. When I've spoken to staff about any concerns I've had it has been dealt with quickly and professionally. They accept any and all children no matter what their back ground is. It's a safe place for children to play and be children. Teaches them life skills, how to cook and even how to fix bikes. They also have animals that the children help to look after, though the holidays they also get companies in with different animals so the kids get a chance to see ones they might not ever see like donkeys, snakes, raindeers ect. They valley project is a massive part of holewood and is loved by everyone children adults even the elderly. They listen to what children want and they try their best too do what they want. Their is no were eles in holmewood that is like this that is also free to attend!! Brilliant project and lovely place to be for the children. The kids love it! Thankyou to all the hard working staff that make this place what it is without this place they kids would have no were to go!!
If you are looking for a place that's inclusive to all children, has a zero tolerance policy on bullying and has staff that communicate well with you instead of blaming your child for being body shamed, physically punched and kicked in their grounds, mocked for a birth defect and laughed at for having a medical condition she was born with THEN THIS PLACE ISNT FOR YOU OR YOUR CHILD! Today i was told that my daughter is just oversensitive, has never been bullied and isn't being targeted. Instead their response was to turn the situation onto my child who was already in pieces after being kicked 3 times in the shoulder whilst in a slide tunnel. The staff claimed to have seen the event even with many other children saying there was no one around and that my daughter had done nothing. She also called me immediatley after because she was too afraid to leave where she was because of this boy, because he is 2 years younger than her, it's not seen as bullying. Whilst trying to explain that it isn't fair that she can't attend without being hurt and that telling a child who is being bullied that she's just over sensitive and every incident was accidental (not believing her, not once) they decided to tell me, after 2 years of her attending that she upsets children all the time. Not one member of staff has ever discussed this with me and have always said that she's a lovely child and helpful when she's there. Rather than fix the issues they chose to blame my daughter, deny her feelings of being scared and worried and unable to enjoy her time and make her feel like she should just stop crying and take the abuse. The board that the staff have every child sign after they've joined which states thing like bullying won't be tolerated, be kind, be nice... IT MEANS NOTHING TO THEM! especially if you're a parent that will always stand up and speak up for your child when they are shut down by the people that we trust to take care of our children. If you confront them with your concerns and don't accept the outcome or feel that it's fair then the gate is slammed in your face. . BOTH STEVE AND LAURA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. THEIR ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE HARM MY DAUGHTER HAS HAD TO ENDURE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS IS HORRIFIC. Their response was... "you're the one that sent her back" Yes I did allow her to go back, because she wanted to be brave and show them that she won't let what they say and do affect her having fun and enjoying life. More than anything I regret her ever attending this place. The staff are supposed to incourage confidence, bravery, kindness and many other things. They don't do this. They put out blame Onto the kids that have become victim to the bullying in their grounds.
Brilliant place and fab people who run it. It's very kid friendly where kids can go to socialize learn new skills and most of all just be kids. My daughter started going down from the start and she absolutely loved it now she helps out down there every now now and then.
It's a very beautiful and children friendly place where kids come to learn life skills, soft skills and socialise. They use their time positively.
