They are currently seeking a skilled, driven Senior Hydraulic Modeller with a strong background in flood risk and mitigation. You will be based near the youthful, multicultural city of Bradford.</p> <p><strong>Benefits for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include (but are not limited to):</strong></p> <ul> <li>Highly-competitive salary (depending on your skills and experience)</li><li>Enhanced Pension Scheme</li><li>Generous annual leave entitlement, rising with length of service</li><li>Flexible/hybrid working available</li><li>Private medical insurance and life assurance schemes</li><li>Dedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with extensive career progression opportunities</li><li>Engagement with a wide range of engineering projects</li><li>An inclusive, collaborative working environment</li><li>A focus on employee wellbeing, including access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)</li></ul> <p><strong>Responsibilities for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prepare fluvial and pluvial hydraulic models</li><li>Support Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) for developments across the property, renewable energy, and aviation sectors</li><li>Contribute to projects across strategy development, feasibility, outline design, planning submission, and discharge of conditions</li><li>Work on Development Consent Orders, as well as Town and Country Planning</li><li>Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to evaluate flood risk and mitigation plans</li><li>Work with the wider team to prepare a range of technical documents</li></ul> <p><strong>Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Hold a UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or a similar, relevant discipline</li><li>Considerable experience of preparing fluvial and pluvial hydraulic models</li><li>Highly-proficient in the use of Flood Modeller Pro and TUFLOW</li><li>Demonstrable experience of undertaking hydrological assessments</li><li>Good working knowledge of UK-based planning systems, including flood-related policy (e.g., NPPF)</li><li>Able to develop hydraulic models, interpreting results and communicating findings to stakeholders</li><li>Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS software</li><li>Experience of liaising with the Environment Agency (EA)</li><li>Confident in managing projects, with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)</li><li>Experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRA)</li></ul> <p><strong>Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A higher qualification in a relevant subject area</li><li>In-depth knowledge of Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)</li></ul> <p>If you are interested in the role of Senior Hydraulic Modeller, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
