Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced <strong>Small Works &amp; Commissioning Engineer</strong> to join their expanding team.</p> <strong>The Role</strong> <p>As a Small Works &amp; Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, modification, testing, and commissioning of active fire systems. You will manage small works projects from start to finish, ensuring systems are installed and commissioned in line with current standards and client expectations.</p> <strong>Duties</strong> <ul> <li> <p>Carry out small works installations, additions, and upgrades to fire alarm systems</p> </li><li> <p>Commission and test fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., BS 5839)</p> </li><li> <p>Complete cause &amp; effect programming and configuration</p> </li><li> <p>Perform system fault finding and rectification</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all documentation, commissioning sheets, and certification are accurately completed</p> </li><li> <p>Liaise with clients, site managers, and other trades on-site</p> </li><li> <p>Provide technical support and handover training to clients where required</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with health &amp; safety regulations at all times</p> </li></ul> <strong>Essential Requirements</strong> <ul> <li> <p><strong>Proven experience commissioning Advanced fire alarm systems </strong></p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations (BS 5839)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to interpret drawings and specifications</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and customer-facing skills</p> </li><li> <p>Full UK driving licence</p> </li></ul> <strong>Desirable</strong> <ul> <li> <p>Experience with other manufacturers (e.g., Morley, Kentec, Gent)</p> </li><li> <p>FIA qualifications or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with emergency lighting and other life safety systems</p> </li><li> <p>ECS/CSCS card</p> </li></ul> <strong>Benefits</strong> <ul> <li> <p>Competitive salary based on experience</p> </li><li> <p>Company vehicle and fuel card</p> </li><li> <p>Overtime opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Pension scheme</p> </li><li> <p>Ongoing training and career development</p> </li><li> <p>Supportive and professional working environment</p> </li></ul>
