Principal Electronics Engineer

<p>Futures are working with an established electronics business in West Yorkshire in their search for a Principal Electronics Engineer. This role will play a key part in shaping the technical direction of both new product development and existing product enhancement, within a business supplying complex solutions into major corporate customers.</p> <p>As Principal Electronics Engineer, you will balance hands-on electronic design with technical leadership, supporting and guiding a small but developing engineering team. The role is predominantly hardware-focused, but you will retain involvement in embedded software and firmware development, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys technical breadth alongside responsibility.</p> <p><strong>Principal Electronics Engineer – Role &amp; Responsibilities – Electronics / Hardware / PCB / Embedded / RF</strong></p> <ul> <li>Take technical ownership of multiple electronics projects, including new designs and legacy product updates</li><li>Deliver hardware solutions to agreed timescales and commercial constraints</li><li>Design, develop and test electronic circuits, schematics and PCB layouts</li><li>Maintain involvement in embedded firmware, including hands-on coding where required</li><li>Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers</li><li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support product delivery</li></ul> <p><strong>Principal Electronics Engineer – Skills &amp; Experience – Electronics / Hardware / PCB / Embedded / RF</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline</li><li>Strong experience in PCB schematic capture, layout and hardware design</li><li>Working knowledge of embedded processors and firmware development</li><li>Background within an SME environment supplying into larger customers</li><li>RF electronics experience would be highly advantageous</li><li>Proven experience providing technical leadership or mentoring within an engineering team</li></ul> <p>If you are an experienced electronics engineer looking to step into a technically influential role within a growing business, Futures would be keen to hear from you.</p>
