This is a long one. Rang customer service to ask for help with my payments as I’m in persistent debt. The person I spoke to got quite frustrated with me at times and if I didn’t answer within a second of him asking something he’d say “hellooo are you there?” He didn’t give me time to respond. I struggle with explaining stuff and things like that which I told him on the phone. Him rushing me for answers made me forget things and several times throughout the call he spoke in a way where it sounded like his words were blended together making it so I couldn’t understand what he was saying but he asked me to speak up so he could hear me. I explained my income is hard to say it changes and things such as my gas & electric payment meters and shopping, transport and pet costs differs so it’s hard to say so I have an estimate, meaning it isn’t an accurate number. You could tell by how I sounded and me saying things like “it can be more” or “maybe around” I was guessing just to give him a number that again, he was rushing me for. He asked about my upcoming payment I said I’ll be able to make a payment but not the full thing so I told him an amount, it was only £30 less than the full amount due. After that he referred back to the expenditure thing saying I have £180 a month left so he doesn’t understand why I’m saying I’m struggling to make payments. When he asked again for anything i pay for, I let him know about another thing I remembered but somehow the amount I have left stayed the same? How’s that make sense? Again, keep in mind he was rushing for answers & getting frustrated and going off the numbers I gave which were estimates for at least 4 of my expenditures. The way he was talking to me at that stage I gave up and just agreed to whatever he was saying and he had nerve to say we were going round in circles 😂. Not professional. Other places I’ve rang for help, they’ve not rushed me for answers and gave off the impression I was lying about my situation. After all that he thanked me for being an idol customer of 85 months so thanks for that, I guess? One thing he did that was helpful was he blocked my card with my permission to help me pay back my card.

If you're comfortable with spending an hour on the phone pursuing customer service, or waiting for a fortnight without receiving responses to your emails or website queries, then this company might be a good fit for you. However, for me, the higher interest rate on my savings didn't justify the time and effort. I should mention that when I did manage to reach customer service, they delivered on their promises, which somewhat salvaged their standing. Nevertheless, the overall experience was a letdown.

Bank refuses to help negotiating balance I got my Vanquis car almost 6 years ago, never missed a payment and never exceed my limit. For several times, I would even pay all my balance at once. I am now facing some financial problems and I called the bank to get help to negotiate my balance or at least freeze my interests until I get back to my feet. To my surprise, the bank plainly refused to help me with any plans due to the fact that I have "exceed income", which is the only income I have left for any food/medical expenses or for any emergencies. I am extremely disappointed that, the moment I need the most, I was simply left with no solution whatsoever to help me with my debts and to help me to clear my balance. I do not recommend.

Vanquis what has happened to you??? you started off really well, I have had my account for about 5 years with no problems. made all payments on time everything good. Then I had to change my payment date as my husband started a new job set up what they call a promise to pay for when he got paid what a good idea and a big help, or so I thought I checked my app and found the promise to pay was no longer active on my account so I had set it up manually. Got a letter this morning telling me that I haven't paid when amount was due its not due till the 19th that's the promise to pay date original due date 29th I have just spoken to them and they just send you round in circles they say a lot but don't seem to actually do or resolve anything. I also mentioned that I am really shocked at how often and high the interest increases are I have had 3 in the past 6 months or so and was informed that there is another one coming for 55% I was told I could speak to customer cervices to freeze this if I wasn't happy of Couse I'm not happy with increase and they would Freeze it I was put through to customer service and when they did answer the phone I could hear them all having a personal conversation I said hello and was put on hold, eventually someone spoke to me but not in English they went off the line i assumed an English speaking employee would come to speak to me instead they just hung up. whats that all about Vanquis ???? you cant keep putting peoples interest up like this its wrong. I have never known this with any other company I have dealt with. SHAME ON YOU VANQUIS SHAME ON YOU.
