The haircut was absolutely amazing – very clean, sharp, and full of detail. Yaman really knows what he’s doing and pays attention to every small detail. I left the shop very happy and satisfied 😍
I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at Figaros, and this is actually my first ever complaint, which speaks volumes. When I initially booked, I was told to come in for a consultation, but when I arrived the atmosphere was immediately uncomfortable and unprofessional, with one young staff member staring at me while another was loudly yelling at a customer over the phone. Once she got off the call, I explained that I had been asked to come in for a hair consultation and was made to feel like an inconvenience; she handled my hair with just two fingers as if I was diseased, which felt rude and degrading. Without properly explaining anything, she cut a chunk of my hair for a strand test, placed a patch on my neck that fell off as soon as I left, and dismissed me with a blunt “you can go now,” which felt dismissive and unprofessional. I received no follow-up call about whether the strand test was okay and had to ring the salon myself, where I was told it was “all good.” Two days later, I returned for my appointment, where a stylist took responsibility for my hair (I am intentionally not naming staff as I am not trying to put anyone on the spot, this review is about the experience as a whole). I clearly explained that I wanted a honey blonde balayage, which was agreed, however the bleach was left on my scalp for well over 40 minutes, closer to an hour, causing itching and burning. As this was my first time ever getting my hair done, I trusted the professionals and did not complain. The salon became very busy and I was left waiting for long periods, including having my neck in the sink for an extremely long time during the wash, which was very painful. When my hair was blow-dried, it was yellow and green and nothing like my inspiration photo, yet staff tried to convince me that it matched, which felt like gaslighting; it was adjusted, but by then I had been in the salon for over four hours and was exhausted so I agreed just to leave. I paid £220 for the balayage plus a hair treatment, totalling around £265, and left with the wrong hair colour and my hair cut up to my collarbone due to “damage,” despite being told the strand test was fine. If my hair was not suitable, I would never have gone ahead with the appointment. Hairdressers are trained professionals who should adapt their techniques to different hair types, and months later my hair is still severely damaged and taking a very long time to fix — it genuinely feels like my hair was ruined. Overall, the lack of professionalism, care, and skill for the price paid was unacceptable.
I had a 6:30pm appointment & was told the wait would be 20 minutes. The shop closes at 7pm. I waited 70 minutes. During that time, staff were packing up & going home, making it clear my appointment was never being managed realistically. I eventually left without receiving a haircut. This wasn’t a minor delay it was a complete failure of time management. Booking someone close to closing & then keeping them waiting past closing time is disrespectful and unacceptable. As a disabled customer, being kept waiting that long after being given an inaccurate time is especially difficult and should have been handled with far more consideration. When I chose to leave, instead of a proper apology, a slick comment was made. Being offered tea does not make up for wasting over an hour of someone’s time. I would not return, and I would not recommend this place to anyone who values their time.
