I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the level of service I have received. My chemotherapy appointment, which was pre-booked, necessitated significant arrangements, including securing leave from work, ensuring care for my child with special needs, and my eldest son taking time off from his employment. The day prior to my scheduled appointment, shortly before 1800, I received a call informing me that the medication had been prepared for another patient, therefore my appointment for the following morning was postponed. Furthermore, the transportation arrangements were subsequently canceled by Eccleshill. Upon inquiring if I would still receive treatment that day, I was assured that I would. It is now past noon, and I have yet to receive any communication. Despite my attempts to contact the facility via various options for the past hour, including leaving a message (which historically has not been promptly addressed), and subsequently contacting the 24/7 number where a colleague indicated they would attempt to assist, I have received no update. She also mentioned the appointment would take place around 12 noon. As an individual with autism, adherence to routine and clear communication are crucial for my well-being, and last-minute alterations present significant challenges. Despite these difficulties, I am trying to maintain patience. I am trying to hold my tears, this is how upset I am. Cancer / treatment isn't something you take lightly, why do they stress patients out. Where is the duty of care? My experience with Eccleshill has been far from professional. I would prefer to receive care at BRI, where the medical staff consistently provide reassurance and foster an environment where patients do not feel like a burden, even While emergency room wait times can be extensive, the sincere apologies offered by the staff significantly enhance the patient experience. I am currently unable to leave home, to do some chores. My youngest child is expected to finish college in less than four hours, and I am currently lacking information regarding the prevailing circumstances. I received a call from BRi Oncology just now, the representative stated that she successfully contacted the individual overseeing the relevant department and indicated that she would follow up with me. No specific timeframe was provided. When I inquired about the chemotherapy schedule, she informed me that she does not work within that department and therefore lacks information regarding that matter. The lack of communication from this nurse / department lead, regarding this matter is both surprising and concerning, as it deviates from NHS professional and ethical standards.

I was given an appointment after calling 111. I arrived early & the receptionist was really lovely. I did not have to wait long to see the Dr who was super friendly & she put me at ease. I can't thank them enough for the 1st class care

Went there for very early morning out of hours appointment. Doctor was very professional and I was seen within minutes of arriving. Shame it feels like it is in the middle of nowhere and that this is the closest available for out of hours to where I live but can't fault the service.

The ultrasound lady was amazing . She found a problem and queried it (she could have shrugged her shoulders and just passed it by) but raised her concerns with Radiology and that concern turned out to be cancer . This lady saved my life .This is the NHS at its finest .
