Car Care Plan

This company are scammers. I had an active and fully paid insurance policy that covered vehicle repairs. When I submitted a legitimate claim, they refused to arrange the repair, claiming they could not find a suitable workshop. Instead of honouring the contract, they cancelled my membership and attempted to redirect my money to a third party without my consent. I clearly demanded a refund or reimbursement of the repair costs, but my request was ignored. After reading many other customer reviews, it is obvious this is not an isolated case but a repeated pattern of behaviour. I have reported this matter to Trading Standards and The Motor Ombudsman, and if it is not resolved, I will be taking legal action through the courts. I strongly advise others to avoid this company.

⚠️ WARNING TO CAR BUYERS - Avoid Car Care Plan Limited ⚠️ I strongly advise against purchasing any warranty or insurance product from Car Care Plan Limited, including the Approved Used Warranty, Tyre Insurance Plan, Club SmartGuard Cosmetic, or Club SmartGuard Alloy. I purchased a new car in September 2025 from a well-known respected dealer. Shortly after, I noticed a small cosmetic dent (no paint damage - general wear and tear). I submitted a claim exactly as directed, but it was rejected almost immediately. We paid £500 for a 3-year policy that has turned out to be essentially worthless. To their credit, the dealer (clearly embarrassed) agreed to cover the repair cost themselves. However, I’m surprised the dealer would promote or partner with such a dubious company (likely earning commission) such as Car Care Plan Limited, based in Thornbury, West Yorkshire. I am now escalating this matter to the Motor Ombudsman, the Financial Ombudsman Service, and my finance company. PLEASE READ OTHER CUSTOMER REVIEWS ON GOOGLE and TRUSTPILOT - you’ll find hundreds of similar experiences from genuine dissatisfied customers. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding Car Care Plan Limited and spend your hard-earned cash elsewhere. ⚠️ AVOID AT ALL COSTS ⚠️

Bit of scam. Refused to pay out for a single item on dozens of issues on my Volvo XC90. When you consider it doesn't cover electrical items, wear and tear and anything that can break over time e.g. Suspension arms Engine mounts or gaskets, there's hardly any faults it would actually cover. Not worth the premium and I certainly won't be renewing.

I’ve been really impressed with Car Care Plan. They are everything you’d hope a warranty company to be – clear, professional, and genuinely helpful. When I recently had an issue with my car, they were ready and willing to cover the repair straight away. The only hold-up came from the main dealer, not Car Care Plan, and throughout the process the team kept me informed and reassured. It’s refreshing to deal with a company that honours their commitments and puts the customer first. Highly recommend them for anyone looking for reliable third-party cover and peace of mind. I held a Club SmartGuard Cosmetic and Club SmartGuard Alloy policy with Car Care Plan Limited for my car. During the three-year term, I never made a single claim. However, partway through, I sold my car and purchased a new one. To my shock, I was denied any pro-rata refund for the unused portion of my policy and told I could not transfer it to my new car — all because the 14-day cooling-off period had passed. This policy feels extremely unfair and almost like theft, taking money for a service I could no longer use. I expected flexibility or at least a reasonable solution, especially since no claims were made. Instead, I was met with rigid refusal and zero assistance. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Car Care Plan.
