I would like to describe a very upsetting situation that happened to me at Asda Rooley Lane, BD4 Bradford on 14/11/2025 at around 10:00 AM, at self-checkout number 37. I inserted £130 in cash, which I had counted beforehand. The machine accepted a few notes and then froze. A staff member unblocked it, but the system showed only £90, even though I had inserted £130. I reported the issue and I had to insist that the CCTV be checked, because it felt like they were trying to ignore my concerns. I was not shown the footage, and even the manager insisted that I had inserted only £90, as if they wanted to make me look like someone who didn’t know what they were doing. I felt treated like an unreliable person — almost as if they were trying to make me look like an idiot — even though I knew exactly how much money I had inserted. The situation was extremely stressful and upsetting — I even cried. I have been shopping there for 11 years, and nothing like this has ever happened before. Only the next day I received a phone call informing me that during the audit they discovered an overage of £40 in that self-checkout, which confirmed that I had been right from the beginning. I was told to come to the store to collect the money, but nobody apologised — not for the stress, not for the manager’s attitude, and not for doubting my honesty. This was a very unpleasant experience, and I am deeply disappointed with how I was treated as a long-term, loyal customer.

I'll start by saying I've been shopping at this Asda for over 20 years. So this isn't a fake review, genuinely honest and real. Cleanliness. This place is disgusting. It's starts at the door when you get a trolley. I'd say a good 90% of them are damaged in some way. And they are NEVER clean. The handles are sticky and they have rubbish in them, do the trolley porters not think to give them a quick once over? It's not hard is it. Clearly there's no quality control. Prices. Extortionate, I stick to a list every week and price can fluctuate a good £20, and the rewards app is rubbish. You used to get a decent reward for your spend, now you get less than £1 for a £200 shop! Staff. Some of the staff are amazing and friendly. But only a few of them. The majority are rude and unhelpful. Yesterday I simply said "excuse me" to get by a member of staff stacking a shelf, and she looked at me in disgust and "tutted" at me. Excellent service. A special note to the "managers". Who can frequently be seen loitering about either near the entrance of near the self checkout. There are usually 3 of them, just casually standing there having a chat and laughing. Do your job! Sort the place out. Next time I go I'll get making a video and uploading it to YouTube for all to see If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.

I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of chicken I purchased from the halal section at Asda Rooley Lane. Despite the expiry date being well in the future, the chicken was clearly off — it smelled bad and tasted worse when cooked. This is unacceptable, especially when it concerns fresh meat and customer health. It’s clear that proper checks are not being done. Asda seriously needs to improve its quality control and ensure that spoiled products are not being left on the shelves. I won’t be buying meat from there again unless this is addressed.

Went in there to day for some bits, especially tablets as my head was killing. Haven't been in for a while as I've moved away from the area and came back to see friends, I will never go back in there again no till service all scan your own items. Must off been between 50-100 in queue I walked out without my stuff never again will I set foot in there 😡😡

Always bought my babies food from here but now it’s the second time I’ve opened a jar of baby food and it’s been mouldy inside but still in date. If I don’t notice and gave my baby that she would of become so poorly
