It took 38 mins to turn a bad experience into a great one. I bought a front and rear dashcam and got Halfords to fit it. However i was not happy on my return to the vehicle to find rain water down the inside of the drivers door and the rear passenger seat. Both the cameras were badly aligned and there appeared to be excess cable showing. When i returned home i contacted Halfords customer services. A couple of days later i recieved a call from the manager, who apologised profusely. He asked if i would revisit so he could sort it out. What a difference one person can make between a bad and great experience. The original fitter seemed to have no time for me, would not explain the system or show me the work.I now understand why! The manager Tom, who refitted the cameras, fully explained their opperation and whose incitefull knowlage made me more confident about its usage as well as the capabilities of the system is an asset to your company. Well done.
I had my windscreen chip repair booked in for Saturday. Approximately 3 hours before, I received an automated email saying it had been cancelled. No call received from store to confirm, no reason, and no confirmation as to whether they would be contacting to re-book. So luckily I saw that email in time. I called head office as you cannot call stores directly. They called through to the store who confirmed that they’ve run out of resin, but apparently could not get anymore info as they had hung up. It’s now 5 days later, I’m yet to hear what is happening, and whether I need to contact them to re-book? Can I have a refund? So it looks like I’m going to have to drive to store to sort myself. I have paid the £45 upfront. I do not have a problem that it had to be cancelled due to running out of resin, it’s the shocking communication, particularly as you have already taken my money!

I visited Halfords in Keighley today to get some advice on bikes for my kids, and I was greeted by the nicest young lad. He was super friendly, listened to everything I had to say, and seemed genuinely interested in helping. Honestly, he made the whole experience really pleasant. But then, a woman, who I assume was his manager, came over and interrupted our conversation in the most rude way possible. She pretty much told him to stop talking to me and pay attention to her instead. I couldn’t believe it. She was incredibly dismissive, had no customer service skills whatsoever, and honestly, her smell was so strong it made me feel a bit sick. What really upset me, though, was the way she spoke to him. It was clear she was using her position to boss him around in a way that wasn’t right, and it made me feel really uncomfortable. I can’t help but feel bad for anyone working with her—it didn’t seem like a healthy work environment at all. It’s such a shame because the young lad was doing a great job, but this whole situation left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I’m honestly concerned about how staff are treated behind the scenes if this is how things go down in front of customers. Definitely not the type of experience I’d expect at a place like Halfords.
Helpful and professional staff. Excellent service on Christmas Eve. Windscreen wipers fitted and new side light bulb.
