The Courtyard Dairy

The Courtyard Dairy

Description

If you are looking for an extra-special cheese to enhance your table and delight your palate, pop into The Courtyard Dairy and choose from a range of the finest unpasteurised cheeses to be found both locally and throughout the UK and Europe.

Andy and Kathy select only the absolute best cheeses from small farms and artisan producers, then give them that magical touch of special maturing that they learnt first-hand from some of the most famous cheesemongers in France and England.

The Courtyard Dairy’s mantra is to sell the best cheese available in the UK and France; and by doing so, champion the few remaining independent farmhouse cheese-makers.

These small individual farmers still make the cheese by hand with unpasteurised milk from their own herds, to get the best depth of flavour.

Once the cheese arrives at The Courtyard Dairy that’s not the end of the story: the whole shop is specially equipped to age cheese. Owner Andy Swinscoe has a background working for some of the top cheesemongers in the UK and a French apprenticeship in ‘affinage’ (cheese ageing); having been awarded a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship for ‘Cheese Maturing’.

Enjoy top quality Yorkshire cheeses (such as Dale End Cheddar) to unique French fromage (Tarentais and Langres to name but to).
