Westgate Arcade

A brilliant Saturday afternoon in Westgate Arcade listening to a local band 'The Fabulous BB King's band' performing live music of Soul and Motown.

Westgate Arcade has a charming and vibrant look and feel. It was a pleasant place to visit, look around at and had a lovely, welcoming atmosphere that made me want to explore. It's a charming spot, bright, clean and full of I interesting independent stores. It encouraged me to take my time to look around and explore.

Used to be a great attraction but they've unfortunately taken the approach of having the same loud band playing the same twelve bar blues numbers every Saturday throughout the spring and summer months. Because of the poor sound mixing and overwhelming noise level all you can hear is the same twelve bar blues bass line for a solid two or three hours booming from it. There's also a high chance you'll be asked for change when you're sat at a table having a drink or a meal.

Westgate Arcade is a fantastic place to shop, dine and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. The arcade has a great mix of shops, from record shops and shoe stores to flower shops, bars, and restaurants. It's a great place to wander around and explore all the different shops on offer. The outdoor dining areas in the arcade are an added bonus, providing a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a bite to eat while watching the world go by. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a great place to spend a leisurely afternoon with friends or family. I particularly appreciate the variety of shops and businesses in the arcade. There's something for everyone, from those looking for the latest records to those searching for the perfect pair of shoes. The flower shops are a personal favourite of mine, and I love stopping by to pick up a fresh bouquet. Overall, Westgate Arcade is a fantastic shopping and dining destination with a great mix of shops and businesses. Whether you're in the mood for a delicious meal or some retail therapy, you won't be disappointed with what's on offer.

Fantastic place.Because the Piece Hall was so busy we walked out the other side and into the Westgate Arcade.Great choice of eateries and very popular with the locals.
