Tong Garden Centre is an award winning retail destination for families in the heart of Yorkshire. Nestled between the cities of Leeds and Bradford, within easy reach of the M62 and set in 17 acres of beautiful countryside, we are independently-owned and proud to play an active part in our community.
Plants remain at the heart of the centre and our team really know their onions; they’re always on hand, ready to help you with all your gardening needs. To complement the choice of plants and gardening products, you’ll also find a large outdoor living range of garden furniture, barbeques and outdoor lighting, an inspiring home, gift and toy department plus retail concessions including Maidenhead Aquatics, Pavers Shoes and Bon Marche. A visit at Christmas time to experience our magical displays for the festive period is a must.
Dining at Tong Garden Centre is always a treat with a choice of two table service eateries - The Restaurant and The Mezzanine. Offering different menus, you can always guarantee a warm welcome in a relaxed environment and delicious dishes and desserts served daily for you to enjoy.
We’re also home to Grass Hoppers – our own indoor and outdoor play centre - and our latest redevelopment is Hearty’s Food Hall which boasts our butchery, bakery and deli as well as a wide choice of local and regional produce from our favourite ‘heartisans’.
Open daily with extensive parking, Tong Garden Centre is an enjoyable day out for families and is now one of the largest garden centres here in Yorkshire.

Fantastic garden centre with an amazing Christmas range, magical ideas and beautifully presented. Really brilliant food court The hog roast sausage roll is an absolute must too, as they are delicious.
Fabulous garden centre with lots of areas. Plants to trees to gifts to bedding. Lots of eateries. Fabulous soft play area along with a huge outdoor area. My grandkids love the bouncing pillows and zip wire. We booked an outside cabin for an afternoon with afternoon tea. The food itself was a bit disappointing: every sandwich was tuna. I wouldn’t pay for the picnic lunch again. Despite this my grandkids had a wonderful visit.
Huge garden centre with amazing Christmas displays, wide variety of shopping including clothing, shoes, pets, giftware, food, cafés and children's play areas.
Thought we’d have a ride out to The Tong Garden centre as they recently took over our local garden centre Deans of York. It’s a large site with lots of different suppliers set up with their own area. They have a restaurant and a cafe both have plenty of seating, we had a main meal in the restaurant and a cream tea in the cafe, both excellent and served very quickly. Staff were all very helpful, happy and polite. Worth a visit if you’re passing.
Such a beautiful and lovely place to visit. They have everything from fish, plants, outdoor decorations, barbecues, cafes, playgrounds, snacks & food, pet feed & toys, plants and more. I love the beautiful array of indoor plants, seeing the Koi Carp, the frozen bakery treats (great for the airfryer) and just walking around! There is so much to see :)
