Lovely Sunday lunch! It’s located right next to the canal, which makes it a lovely stop if you happen to be walking there and provides a pretty view while sitting outside. The inside or the pub is also very cosy and welcoming. The food was really good, would definitely recommend trying their Sunday lunch along with the large variety of lovely items on the menu.

A friend and I visited The Bay Horse on the recommendation of a butchers shop we had visited locally. We were greeted and seated by Arleta who was so lovely and welcoming. She was very helpful giving is a choice of where to sit and gave us plenty of time to make our food choices after bringing our drinks order. We opted for the beef brisket sandwich with salad rather fries, this was a great choice and didn’t break the bank either. The sandwich was so tasty and the salad was so very fresh! We only visit this area every 3 months but we will be paying the Bay Horse a visit everytime now…… and I will be skipping breakfast so I am able to take advantage of the 2 course and 3 course deals. Lots of food choices that should keep everyone happy! Thanks again Arleta for being a lovely smiley helpful person.

This is a nice cosy pub with brilliant staff who are attentive. However on Christmas Eve the quality of the food was let down. Whilst my burger was ok, my partners fish was massively overcooked that it wasn't edible. It was taken off the bill as the staff were very understanding. I noticed another table sending food back too. Potentially just an off day given the pressures in hospitality over the festive period

Skipton was so busy we decided to try find a nice pub to get food and drink on our drive back. We arrived at a silly time to eat and we’d skipped lunch. We were pleasantly surprised when we were advised that they serve food all day. We chose a table with a view of the canal. The service was friendly and efficient. The beef brisket sandwich was absolutely delicious. I thought the lasagne tasted bland but my daughter enjoyed it. The service was excellent!

I’ve been coming to the Bay Horse for years. I remember carrying my young son in a car seat. He’s nearly 16 now. The staff have always been incredibly friendly. Sometimes I pop in often, other times a few months will go by. But any time I go, Arleta remembers me. She asks after my kids, she knows what I want to drink. She can fairly reliably pick what I’ll eat too! The food is consistently excellent and reasonably priced. We went for the Boxing Day set menu with the family yesterday and the whole experience was excellent. Lovely, friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere with the kids and great food too. We all really enjoyed it and we’ll be back again soon. :)
