What a fabulous nature reserve. Visited on Father’s Day, so nice to go to a place which wasn’t overcrowded. To be honest I should keep this little gem of a place to my knowledge only! Friendly welcome when we peeked in the cafe. Toilets were spotless. The hides were of great quality, information signs up of possible nature you could spot. I will definitely return and plan a walk by the river and spot of food and drinks.
Not a bad little spot to get some good shots of birds and overall wildlife. Would recommend going. Only downside is that some days it can get a bit too busy especially due to the fact its not a big nature reserve. But overall for wildlife lovers and photographers I would highly recommend.
Nice place to have a walk or cycle along the canal
Didn't do the NR as it was closed. I did however walk on two occasions walk the canals 1st onto Appley Bridge decent walk and so enjoyable. The following week the opposite direction to Kirkstall Abbey excellent walk there and a nice latte from Starbucks. Give it a try, both in beautiful December weather sun & blue skies. So lucky. Added 6 more photos on a recent trip.
Nothing much to see by eye, especially in winter with the nature looking miserable. I suppose it's interesting to bird afficionados with binoculars, there were a few of those.
