My E class went into limp mode, gears changing late and engine management light came on. Dropped my car off in morning, got a call couple hours later with fault diagnosed (tear in pipe to turbo), was fully fixed and ready in a few hours. Great place to buy a car. I turned up unannounced on a Sunday morning to see a car I saw online. Not only did I get full access to the car for as long as I needed I was very happy that Andy got me out for a test drive and I could then be sure this car was me. The car was very well presented and so clean it looked brand new. I returned the next day to collect It and I’m now a very happy customer. From the previous reviews I decided to change from the company I usually use to SES. I was not disappointed, Mel is wonderful, very helpful, knowledgeable, professional, open & honest which I believe is very hard to find these days. Mel took my car for an MOT, and he gave it a service. He carried out work on the rear brake pads. Plus delt with some water ingres in the boot plus many other things, my car felt much better to drive after the work he carried out. Mel charged a very fair price for the work he completed. Mel is prompt and keeps you well informed about your car repairs, and offers good sound advice. I can highly recommend Mel, and I won't be going to any other mechanic in future. I took a W169 Mercedes A Class to have spark plugs fitted, coolant changed and hand brake adjusted. Supposedly the plugs and coolant were done with plugs and coolant I supplied and charged £121,but I have no way of knowing for sure if they were done. Supposedly the handbrake adjustment was attempted but a part broke in the process and in order to change this part the fuel tank would have to be removed and my fuel filler neck was so badly corroded that it would brake as well if attempted. Was quoted £405 for a new front hand brake cable and fuel filler neck to be ordered and fitted. The neck actually costs £145 and the cable £25 (actually abit cheaper if using eBay parts) and supposedly the labour would be £150 so it should cost £320 total, so somehow another £85 was being added with no explanation. Alarm bells went off and I decided to just pay the £121 for plugs and coolant job and take it elsewhere. I was left with no handbrake at all where as before I went to SES it was simply weak. When getting the job done elsewhere it turned out a part was now missing from the hand brake mechanism, a part that connects the front cable to the rear cables, and it had to be ordered from mercedes dealer for £13 and does not come on the cable as Mel stated it would. It was either carelessly lost or spitefully removed because dissatisfaction that I didn't go ahead with the work at SES. Local mechanic fitted the neck and sorted the handbrake for £80 labour. Take your Merc elsewhere, SES has bad vibes, dodgy guys looking for an easy buck and more interested in flogging used cars, most of which are not Mercs, infact no mention of SES Merc specialist anywhere on the premises as far as I could see. Dodgy with a capital D.
