A really nice place took a steady walk along the canal with my son. The lock is amazing when walking it’s hard to imagine that the main road is only yards away. Easy underfoot most of the walk is on a hard surface. Wheelchair friendly and no hills. Easy parking on the road
I had the pleasure of taking a trip on this canal recently. And I can tell you it was fantastic beautiful locks and very well maintained too. There's a guy in ripon Town on the canal does short trips on the canal, go check him out he's great and you'll love it.
Well worth a visit especially if you want to walk up the canal
Having arrived by narrow boat it's very disappointing only space for four boats. There could be additional moorings infront of the flats. Charming terminal for cruising to ideal position to stop and explore the city. Daily trip boat operates and is very popular. Cafe, pubs and fish and chips close by.
What a lovely place to have a walk or a little trip on the boat . Well recommended.
