Decided to get a roast chicken and some sides to take away for Sunday dinner. Instead of the boring veg like broccoli or cauliflower, we were given roasted beetroot and carrots, roasted parsnips and creamy leeks roasted potatoes and homemade thick gravy, the chicken was so juicy. For £30 for 3 of us this was amazing value and the service was great as I asked to have this outside there normal serving times to accommodate my mum's meal schedule as she insulin dependant. They went above and beyond. The food was piping hot when we got it home and tasted delicious. Thank you to everyone involved xxx
Nipped to Hideaway for some lunch the other week, really enjoyed the food. The pizza was good and my partner really enjoyed the chicken burger. The owner was really lovely and you could tell the locals loved it in there too. We will be back to try some of the South African food. The lady chef was lovely too! Good prices👏🏼
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely outstanding Sunday dinner from The Hideaway. We picked it up and by the time we got home it was still hot. The chicken was succulent, juicy, and generously sized. The vegetables were perfectly seasoned and full of flavour, the roast potatoes were hands down the best I’ve ever had — crispy, golden, and beautifully seasoned. The gravy was rich and incredibly tasty, tying everything together perfectly. Portion sizes were phenomenal — incredible value for money. Collecting from the restaurant was a pleasure too; it’s a beautiful place with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the chefs were genuine and friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back. Worth every penny — honestly, I would’ve happily paid more.
This is a small, friendly restaurant. The meals were excellent and the portions large. The single waitress did a great job and was very pleasant all evening. Please get the door fixed though!
Fabulous little restaurant with really unusual food. The owner is South African so there is a fantastic menu and it is really good for vegans and vegetarians as well as meat eaters. For starters we shared olives, vegetarian quesadilla and cauliflower cheese bites. My husband had the gorgeous SA style Bunny Chow pizza for main. I opted for the Jamaican style yam curry. Really different and fabulous. Lovely couple with a real passion for food. We will be back soon. Recommended.
