About The Lamp Restaurant

Description

The Lamp Restaurant is located in the heart of Bridlington’s historic Old Town, in a grade II listed Victorian building, the restaurant takes it’s name from the original Victorian gas lamp that is situated in the rear courtyard, an area that is ideal for al fresco dining in the warmer summer months.

We take pride in our food offering here at the Lamp, our food is sourced locally where possible and our cuisine is based on classic British fayre with a contemporary twist. We offer a varied menu which changes according to the season alongside a specials board which often features local game dishes.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is cosy and intimate with candle-lit tables and a relaxed ambience.

We do only have limited space available so booking in advance is advisable especially for the busy weekend periods.

First time at the lamp. Won't be my last. Excellent food, service, host and atmosphere. Can't fault it. Sally was just amazing. She was super friendly, great knowledge of the menu and very helpful. The owner recommended a beautiful red wine as I'm no wine buff but wanted to try one, it was lovely. The whole meal was delightful. The mushroom starter with Stilton was just so flavorful and cooked to perfection. I had the Sheppard pie with roast potatoes and peas and the Nutella cheesecake. Everything was hot, and boy was the portions plentiful. Looking forward to going back. Thank you so much for a lovely few hours xx

CHECK THE BILL 🧾 Four of us dined at The Lamp for Tenner Tuesday. The food was excellent — full credit to the chef — and the waitress was professional and attentive. Paying the bill completely spoiled the experience. Despite clear food pricing, the drinks charges were excessive, with Birra Moretti at £7.50 per pint. When we queried the total, the owner stood over us with the card machine and responded rudely, brushing off our concerns with “you’d pay more elsewhere” instead of giving a proper explanation. He was later found to be in the wrong and refunded £30. This felt like deliberate pressure to pay without question. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and left us with no confidence in the billing process. The food deserved praise — the management did not. Will not be returning while that man is the owner of this restaurant. Such a shame as it was once the best place to go for food, wine bar style.!!

Yet another fantastic meal at The Lamp. Cannot praise it highly enough, the food is fabulous, fresh and tasty. The presentation is outstanding and the staff are wonderful. Do yourself a favour and book a meal, you will not be disappointed.

Surprise Birthday meal. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely be going back. Starters we had king scallops on black pudding and salmon cakes with sweet chill sauce. Mains we both had sirloin steak. Cooked to perfection. Served with chunky chips, crunchy vegetables and new potatoes. Desserts chocolate orange cheesecake and apple and pear frangipane which came with a candle in. Thank you. X
