Well the worst fish n chips ever!! Staff were ignorant, one playing with her earrings n hair!! One playing with the forks!! Pathetic, fish was grey n off but eh ho let’s wear sunglasses n talk about Saturday night!!! Dire !! You need a hygiene inspection
ÂŁ4 for a large chips which is fine if they were a large portion. Tiny portion! Would have been small for a small. Not particularly amazing chips either.
Brilliant location, good service and decent tray of chips, a good place to sit and watch the activities of the harbour . A further plus point, the gulls were well behaved!
We’ve just got home after spending 6 nights split between 2 Haven sites in our motorhome. Its the first time we’ve stayed in Yorkshire, and we were very much looking forward to finding a decent fish & chips, and we were certainly NOT disappointed. Coming on here,I can’t believe this place has only got a 2.8 rating, unless the current owners are new. I had a regular fish & chips, with mushy peas,my wife just had a regular fish & chips. The staff were ever so friendly & polite, and told us the 1 empty table available,in front of the waffle place was also theirs and we could use it. We were given our order number and it was good to see everything being cooked to order. When our order was ready,we could not believe the size of the fish, which looked absolutely perfectly cooked, and it was. The batter was so light and not a drop of grease, and the fish was so moist and chunky. The chips were also delicious, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Here in North Wales,we are used to a bag of soggy chips. It was also so nice to actually get proper mushy peas, which is also very difficult to find at home. My wife said “We should have had 1 between us” and I had to agree with her. There was no way I was wasting any though, and even though it took a while,I finished it. Such high quality food and it only cost £19.90 for the 2 meals.I can understand why it was so busy during the time we were there, and whenever we are in the area,we will definitely be returning here. Don’t let these negative reviews put you off, because if they are true, there are definitely new owners,100%.
Only chips purchased, tasty and good quality but a bit pricey for a small portion. Definitely recommend if in town.
