Papa's Fish & Chips - Bridlington

I’m very surprised to see some of the negative comments below. Granted the pics of the bad chips I understand. However I went there yesterday and the fish and chips were in my top 3 best of all time! I bought haddock and chips for my dad and broke a piece off to try…I immediately went back and bought more for my mum and me to share. We wasn’t hungry, yet we all finished the lot. My dad of 82 described them as absolutely lovely. Take that as a huge compliment, as the most he ever says when he likes something is “its alright”. He’s also somewhat of a fish and chips connoisseur. The fish was perfectly white inside, the batter super tasty and perfectly crisp. The chips were fresh and made with good potatoes. Everything was molten hot as it was freshly out the fryer. And that curry sauce was unlike any I’ve ever had. Mushy peas were tasty. The price was super reasonable. You get a good bang for your buck. The girls serving were super busy, but very sweet and efficient. Loved it, and could eat it again right now! Sooo very delicious!

Absolutely lovely fish and chips, and a proper bargain price for the quality. Staff are lovely too!

We arrived around 2030 noting they closed at 2100. They had limited stock left available which was fine with us as we only wanted simple items. The staff were friendly and helpful pointing out what they had left over. The menu had a good selection if we’d been earlier. I was slightly surprised they closed at 2100, however a lot of the places seemed to. I had a large chips and 2 normal sausages, the chips were excellent quality. Not too greasy, I loved them, lots of crispy bits as well. Sausages were standard, very nice. The place was very clean and presentable, chip forks were available along with all the usual sauces etc. Based on this experience I would recommend getting your fish n chips from here; I’ll probably be back in future.

It was 20.15 on a Friday night and the fish and chips shop that I had been recommended and highly praised was shut! Why is a fish and chips shop shut just after 8 on a Friday 🤔🤷‍♂️. I am really disappointed 😔

What can I say about this place!! I bought a large fish and chips and the fish was the biggest I've ever experienced!! So many people that saw it (even as I was walking eating it), commented on the "whale" I had!! If I'd known, there would have been no reason for others to order a meal as well (as could have fed a family of 4!). Tasty fish and amazing chips. Great prices too. Definitely recommend of in the area, as can't see anyone else beating it for cost, taste and value.
