Easy to locate and you can save 12p on charging units by using the Lidl Plus app. Unfortunately can’t use the charger though as it’s offline/out of service. Seems to be a common occurrence with EV chargers in the area :(
It was troublesome to get started, as i had not previously downloaded the Lidl Plus app. It also gave an erroneous message that there was no power available. Going through the lengthy sequence of actions, which required downloading the app and receiving 2 text messages ir did eventually work. Max speed on Chademo was 39kW which was OK. The rate for Lidl Plus members is l lot better than for drive ups, so I would recommend joining it first.
CCCS type 2 Charger was available immediately (so where the other two types of connectors on the machine) the car charged very quickly cost £13.25 to add 19.5 kW to my EV in less than 25 minutes while I shopped in Lidl. I definitely would use Lidl chargers again as they're cheaper price per kilowatt from public charger via my octopus electroverse account. This is also a benefit because I didn't have to pay for the charging on the spot neither did you have to pay a holding fee for the charge, you just use your electroverse card tap it on the machine and it charges to your electric bill with octopus 😁 paid 74p per kw +vat
Despite there being three charging plugs and two parking bays the charger is only actually capable of charging one car at a time. One. It’s actually quite commendable that the person who designed this charger screwed it up as badly as they did.
Charging experience could have been easier if contactless was offered, and the AC charging cable is broken with internal wires exposed (didn't affect us directly as we used the CHAdeMO cable instead).
