Not so much "famous" as "notorious" locally. I counted 133 steps but I kept stopping so it's only a guesstimate! When the tide's out, it's a fabulous beach. With refreshments available at the Blu Savanna snack bar. Toilets are a bit of a hike away so not great for the little ones. The steps used to be a bit hair raising, but they've been replaced by the concrete steps you can see in the photos. If you're wanting a good work out, try running up from the beach. I was happy just to plod! Lots of wildlife including rabbits, gulls, crows and other birds. Great photos of Bridlington Bay to be had from here.

Sewerby Steps, approximately 150 steps, leads you from the top of the cliffs down to the beach. Close by is the Ships in, which has a dog friendly outdoor area where you can eat or drink, there's a desert/drinks cabin at the top too. The land train passes by, with the station just past on your left, as you look out to sea and takes you all the way onto Bridlington. There is seating on the top of the cliffs and when the tide is out, you can walk either to Bridlington or Danes Dyke along the beach h or following the coastal path. Beware though there are plenty of steps to overcome throughout the Danes Dyke area.

Access point to the base of Sewerby cliffs. When the tide is out, you can walk back to Bridlington North beach. Great spot for photos. I wouldn't recommend walking along the cliff base towards Flamborough head, you could get cut off by the tide. Incidentally, there are 156 steps, tough on the knees.
