Harriets Cottage

Stayed here for a week with family. Its a little rough around the edges. Walking up the path there are lots of weeds which make it look uncared for. The lounge had a doggy smell so we moved a diffuser from another room and kept windows open while we were in also the outside furniture didn't have any seat cushions we were told they had been ruined but we could have some throws, not ideal so we didn't use the outside space for a week even though we had some pretty decent weather. Also when we stripped the beds upon leaving my mattress protector had stains on not acceptable. It wouldn't have taken much to resolve these issues as its a pretty little cottage.

Had a lovely week here, house is gorgeous and can really see that it was someone's project of love. There's obviously been a leak at some point as there was water damage on several ceilings. Amenities consist of small washer and a very small dryer, dishwasher. A double bedroom and a a bedroom with a singles. In the roof is what i suspect is a king but because of the slope of the roof I could not even attempt to get in it. Small courtyard at the rear, but unfortunately no off street or designated parking. We were promised a parking permit but we never saw it until our last day when it arrived in the post. All in all we had a lovely time location is perfect 5 minutes from heart of Whitby, same to get to supermarkets. Would I recommend this place for for a holiday let yes with one condition ...... You're not over 6' 2" as you will scalp your head every time you pass through a door frame

Beautifully appointed home, and really well decorated. Loved the wood burner, and the kitchen was amazing. Only downsides were the parking situation, and location to whitby. Everything else was absolutely perfect.

This is our second visit to Harriets Cottage and although it's been 2 years, it feels like it was yesterday. Still so relaxing, warming and wonderfully cosy. Well equipped, with everything you would need, for a relaxing holiday.

Modern, stylish and homely. Excellent base for exploring the area around Whitby. Even my dog enjoyed chilling by the log fire in the evenings.
