I’ve been meaning to call in here for quite some time, having heard good things, and I wasn’t disappointed. After ordering from the takeaway section, which is separate from the main restaurant, I could see straight away that the area was spotlessly clean, with polite and friendly staff. Once the food was in hand, I asked if I could review outside, which was no problem at all. I ordered the Special Cod, which was absolutely delicious in their secret crispy batter recipe. The fish was plump, moist, and very tasty, with a generous portion. I had it covered in scraps, which were also very good. The chips were spot on, with plenty of crispy bits and misshapes. The Irish curry sauce is a must, full of flavour with just enough of a kick. Overall, it is ideally situated in the town, with a pay and display car park next to it, and I would recommend the dine-in option if you get the chance. I will certainly be doing that myself on my next visit. 🟠 Cooking in: Oil 🟠 Payment: Cash or Card 🟠 Fish Reviewed: Special Cod 🎥 See the full video review on The Chippy Tour YouTube channel

Wow, went here for a birthday lunch with my mum and the fish and chips were the best I've had in a long time. Bread and real butter, yorkshire tea and the fish and chips were fabulous...and the mushy peas were the best I've ever had....no word of a lie, give this place a try. The staff were so welcoming and chatty....worth every penny (not extortionate btw) - a massive thumbs up from me and my mum.....

An organised well run establishment. I have visited here over many years but never the restaurant. It was decorated with green chairs! and tonal brown tables. The staff serving me were very pleasant and efficient. Served within a good timescale too. The fish and chips were hot and very tasty too. I also obtained a diet coke [with ice and lemon no less!] The fish tasted succulent and fell apart on eating it / beautiful !!! Chips a plentiful amount too and I even took some home,in a box provided by Blakeleys. Thankyou. Jo Connolly. 22/11/2025.

Best fish and chips ever. My grandma had a fish cake and she said it was beautiful and me and my dad had lightly battered fish which were cooked perfectly. The fish were perfect size, maybe even a bit too big (but when is that ever a problem). The staff were also lovely and made sure the order spot on. I’ll be coming back soon!

We had a large table of friends at Blakeleys of Brighouse and the team looked after us brilliantly. The fish was incredibly fresh, portions were generous, and the service was spot on. Great atmosphere and great value, we’ll definitely be back.
