Absolutely lovely time, spent 1 night with my kids. The few things I would have preferred was the heating on prior to our visit, some firmer pillows and the choice of breakfast being limited (cereal would have been a good option for kids meal) Other than that, staff were excellent with their natural northern friendliness. Cannot complain! Thank you
We should be realistic. This is a place to stay whilst on your way elsewhere. The service is excellent at reception. Happy, generous individuals who go the extra mile. The room was a little dated. No sockets by the bed and certainly no USB charging. The linen and room was completely clean and the beds were very comfortable although there was a definite smell of cigarettes from the recent past. We found a lighter under the bed. The motorway noise was dampened but ever present as you would expect. The bathroom - a little dated - but the shower was good and everything worked well. The breakfast was available in the service station next door. The staff seemed new, keen to please but very slow and confused. The food was only adequate but edible. Parking was easy although the additional £5 was unexpected and unnecessary.
Disappointing stay. The room had an unbelievable stench and the carpets were filthy and not worth the risk of walking over bare foot. We checked in quite late and there was a really helpful staff member who completed our check in. That's were the positives end. The place looked and felt like a deserted property that was unloved. There were cleaning trollies and hovers discarded in the corridor to add to the slamlam adventure. We had large luggage which made the walk tricky especially as there were no lifts
VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! After having an absolute disaster at home, having 2 very young children and my very elderly father and our dog. My partner and I decided to book this hotel. An hour after booking our landlord had managed to temporarily fix the problem. We decided to stay in our home with kids in their own beds. We contacted the hotel to which we were told there was nothing they could do and it’s OUR fault. I understand hotels have policies, however the person on the phone clearly didn’t have any hospitality experience as the way we were spoken to was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We were made to feel stupid and humiliated. I definitely wouldn’t recommend booking here unless you are certain you want to stay.
Staying here for a few weeks with the wife and dog (been 3 weeks so far) while I'm out working my wife is not so she is here all day and she actually loves it the staff are above and beyond...! excellent dog walks and several pubs which serve food within a 10 minute walk, although this is a budget hotel the room is very big and if your lucky enough to get a room on the back its surprisingly quiet...and a 2 min walk to the driving rang if golf is your thing. Dont expect anything too flash but its far better than we anticipated
