i throughly enjoyed my year at this school however it was over shadowed by particular staff members such as miss dawson, mr shaw, miss senior. they all teach with a very unprofessional manner and patronise vulnerable students. this led to me feeling very uncomfortable and others in their presence and completely ruined my mental health and my self esteem. the opinions of children at the school need to be taken into consideration and staff that behave like children should be dealt with accordingly.
Having experienced this school first hand I can say that there are better schools by far. This schools teachers varied in different standards of teaching. The ICT teachers of 2019 were nothing but disgraces to the school and acted like nerdy children. The old teacher Colin Smith made fun of my absence of school as I was attending to a family loss. He mocked my absence saying it was because he had spoken to my parents the day before about my strong dislike for him. Not to mention another teacher Mr Wharton, who threatens to give a detention to anyone who said a Star Wars movie spoiler. absolute jokes they were. This school needs to improve the standards of staff to a higher level of teacher like the high standards of teaching shown by English teacher Maria Kardel. The science technician looks like a woman.
going to this school currently, career days are good and let you interact with universities in person. The only bad teachers are Mr Shaw (his teaching style of physics composes of children jumping off cliffs or submerged in tanks of water or honey) and Miss Dawson (refuses to help people and says she hates teaching certain kids, me being one of them), horrendous teaching styles from both, only good ppl include Mr McGregor, Miss Kasem, Mr Kay and Mr Sherwin and Mr Edwards (Miss O'shaungessy but she left the day im writing this)
Compared to the colleges and sixth forms I had to choose from, this one was by far the best choice of the lot. Of course not all colleges are perfect, few are. Depending on your preferred teaching style, some teachers are not as good as others but the biology department are brilliant. As well as teaching they really show that they care. Whether it's about study or something happening at home they are really understanding and will help if possible. Could not thank them enough.
Had some great times at this school, sad to be leaving it.
