My son attended this nursery from +12mnths and one day had a traumatic head injury when he was playing outside in the playground. They didn’t bother to call us. He used to cry a lot when we dropped him off and never used to eat. They implied he had special needs because he had no speech and his behaviour was different but that wasn’t the reason for ill treating him the way they did. He went quiet for a week thereafter and his behaviour changed. I started keeping a close eye on him until one day he came home with boiled pasta that was meant to be his dinner. The food was the worst and kids at cheap tinned food. The place stank of poo everyday in the afternoon and we had to put up with it when picking up the children. The manager was nasty as well as some of the staff who fobbed off his injury. They acted like it was nothing when in fact in hindsight I should have taken him to the children’s hospital and file a formal complaint with the police. As a first time mom I didn’t know what to do but the pasta incident finally made me snap and from that point my son stopped attending that over glamorourised nasty toxic place. They acted like it’s a luxury nursery when it’s far from it. All the promises they made during enrollment were forfeited the day my son came home injured and they didn’t bother to call us to pick him up. They are very lucky I didn’t file a formal complaint otherwise I could have sued them for negligence. I regret ever putting my son in this nasty place. It really affected him. The nursery staff ended up yelling at me for checking on him too much and she ended up complaining about my son. Racism in hindsight and I will never recommend anyone to take their child there ever. Horrible picture perfect but very basic and below standard care especially for black children. Never ever again.
Amazing nursery. Little one loves it and is always excited to go. With their setup, parents can easily monitor daily and longer term progress. Shame my little one is unable to complete his final at the nursery due to moving further away.
Amazing Nursery! My daughter has been going to Kidz@Work since she was 11 months old and she absolutely loves it, my second child will also be going there! The staff are all so lovely and a lot of them have been there for many years, they make the hard decision of leaving your child in someone elses care much easier, they care for your child like they would their own. My daughter has come on so much since attending, the staff and especially the 2 teachers who work there are very dedicated to giving the children the best start in life. The management are so welcoming and are very passionate about what they do. Would definitely recommend this nursery!!
Would highly recommend this nursery. The staff are brilliant and make my family feel so welcome. I feel like they give the children many opportunities to experience activities that they might not usually do like French, dance and even yoga! My child has come on so much since starting Kidz@work!
Our journey with Kidz@Work started wonderfully and our child had a wonderful time until he got to the final class. The teacher was vile, she implied my son had issues because he was an only child (total disregard for any fertility problems) he was bullied and tormented to the point of an outburst which he was then punished for, he had to earn the right to activities, tasks and time in the soft play, where other children were given them freely, she refused to support him and actively discussed him with other parents negatively. I wasn’t made aware of the bullying and tormenting by the nursery, our son was scared to tell us what was happening, he was 3 years old! On discovery I spoke the teacher who said it was our son who was aggressive (we later found out that he was told by a child regularly that his mummy and daddy weren’t going to be around forever, he would get new ones when we divorced) what child wouldn’t be upset on hearing things like that everyday? I had to give the teacher coping mechanisms and suggest ways of helping our son, all standard stuff, that I was given by teacher friends. I arrived to pick our son up one day to find him crying on the wet floor outside because the teacher wouldn’t help him put his gloves on, he was segregated away from the other children to cry on his own, I sat with him for 30mins while he sobbed before we could go home. All the good staff were bullied by management until they left and were replaced by in experienced staff who were again bullied to take short cuts, go against regulations and do the bare minimum with the children. This review has been longer than expected but there have been a catalogue of errors which meant we pulled him from the nursery in June, rather than the expected August before starting mainstream school and called on family and friend to support us with childcare until he started school to take him away from the toxic place he was attending. I would never recommend this place! The facilities look fantastic but sadly the rest of the service isn’t up to standard.
