Hallam were brilliant from start to finish. John’s quote was thorough, professional and competitive with no hard sell element. As with a lot of moves there were quite a lot of date changes and all the staff in the office were very helpful and made everything happen when it needed to. Boxes were dropped round promptly, we’d decided to pack ourselves which might not have been our best decision but we were able to get everything packed and Hallam moved our stuff in two stages over a weekend, storing it in between. The weather was awful but the team kept going throughout. On the day of the move John was a very calm presence and made everything run so smoothly. All the team were lovely. We moved over 2 days The team were great, they put down blankets on the carpets. Our furniture is going into storage, they wrapped our sofa's really well. On the first day they had finished by noon and the next day 09:30hrs!! We have a 4 bedroomed house. Accidentally they took our washing basket, which was full of dirty linen, we didn't fancy leaving it until we could move again, which could be 12 weeks, they took it out of storage and waited for us to arrive because we got stuck in Sheffield traffic, Liz stayed behind for us. The lady's on switchboard were so pleasant, really helpful, they went out of their way to find the linen basket and when we had to change our plans, due to probate, when I was very upset, they gave valuable advice. I would thoroughly recommend them. They went above and beyond

Initially things seemed good, the home survey was hassle-free, the quote reasonable, and payment was easy. Unfortunately, the moving day itself was extremely stressful and poorly handled. We were emailed at 1:30am on the day of our move cancelling due to snow, which caused unnecessary panic. The snow was minimal by morning, and although they later confirmed the move was going ahead, no arrival time was given. The team then arrived at 9am without warning, despite most house moves not completing key collection until later in the day. The staff were rude and dismissive, even laughing about the 1:30am cancellation email. The van was loaded inefficiently, items weren’t properly secured, and our mattress wasn’t covered. They refused to take additional items, shut the van doors, and left without discussion, forcing my family to make multiple trips ourselves. Calling the office made things worse. I was spoken to rudely, told “that’s not what happened,” and blamed for their mistakes. At the new house, the team were confrontational, unprofessional, failed to protect our brand new carpets, and dumped items without care. One simply said “finished” and walked out. Despite the good reviews, this company struggled with a very standard local move. Poor communication, poor attitude, and very poor customer service. Would not recommend. Best going with a simple man and van service.

Hallam Removals really helped us out on a last minute pre Christmas move. They went above and beyond on what turned out to be a very long, challenging and stressful day.
